Darwin walked beside Elise, their footsteps echoing against the pavement as they made their way towards her place. After the harrowing incident at the cafe, Darwin had insisted on accompanying Elise back to her parent's house, determined to ensure her safety. As they walked, Elise couldn't shake the feeling of gratitude that she felt within her chest. "For everything." Darwin returned her smile with a nod, his eyes warm with understanding. "It was my pleasure," he replied. ""I'm just glad I could be here for you." Together, they climbed the steps to the front door, their footsteps are light against the wooden porch. Elise hesitated for a moment before reaching out to grasp the doorknob, her heart is pounding with anticipation as she prepared to face her parents. As the door swung open, Elise met with the warm embrace of her mother, tears of relief glisten in her eyes.Behind her, stood her father, his expression was a mix of worry and relief as he pulled her into a tight hug. As the door swung open, he was met with the comforting embrace of home, the familiar sights and sounds washing over him like a soothing balm. "Where have you been, Darwin?", the stern voice of his mother, Olga, broke the serenity of the house. "You spent the night out of the house without having me notified! With whom? With that girl again?", she spoke with a sense of anger in her face. "Please, mom, I'm tired and exhausted, can you let it slide this time?Please. I will explain to you at sunrise", Darwin said as he walked to his room. Olga allowed her son to just pass through her to his room but with eyes glaring at his back. The moment she discovered that Darwin was interested with Elise, the girl who is of the same school with her son, she'd been warning him to cut the ties between them for no acceptable reason.Whatever reasons does she hold, only she who knows at all.
