The diner bell rang.
Leo looked up from wiping tables and her blood froze.
Damien.
Black suit. No tie. Jaw tight like he hadn’t slept in a month. His golden eyes scanned the diner and stopped on her. On her apron. On her hands.
On her stomach.
“Outside. Now.” His voice was low. Dangerous.
Leo’s manager nodded frantically. “Go, go! That’s Alpha Blackwood!”
She followed him out with shaking legs. The cold night air hit her face.
The black Maybach door opened.
“Get in.”
“I’m not—”
“Get. In.”
She got in. The door closed. The world went silent. Tinted windows. Leather seats. His scent. Pine, power, and rage.
Silence.
For a full minute neither of them spoke.
Then Damien turned to her. Slow.
“Whose baby is it?”
Leo hugged herself. “I don’t—”
“Don’t lie to me.” His fist hit the seat beside her. She flinched. “I know it’s mine. I can smell it. My pup.”
The word pup made her cry.
“Why?” Damien whispered. Suddenly all the anger was gone. Replaced with something worse. Pain. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because you rejected me!” Leo shouted, tears falling. “In front of everyone! You called me trash!”
“I was stupid.” He dragged a hand through his hair. “I was scared. An Omega mate? What would the other Alphas say?”
“I don’t care what they say!”
“I do.” He looked at her stomach. His hand hovered, like he wanted to touch but didn’t dare. “Is it... healthy?”
Leo nodded. “The doctor said 6 weeks. Strong heartbeat.”
Damien closed his eyes. When he opened them, they were wet.
"Come home with me."
"What?"
"To the pack house. You and the baby. You’re under my protection now. No one touches you."
Leo laughed bitterly. "Protection? After what you did?"
Damien reached out and grabbed her wrist. Gently. His thumb brushed over where the mating mark should’ve been. Blank skin.
"I can’t take back the rejection," he said, voice breaking. "But I can give you a new title."
"What title?"
"My Luna. My wife. The mother of my heir."
Leo stared at him. "You want to marry me out of guilt?"
"No." Damien leaned in. His forehead touched hers. "Because it’s always been you. Even when I was too much of a coward to admit it."
His phone buzzed.
Unknown number.
Text: If you claim that Omega, the council will remove you as Alpha.
Damien didn’t even look at it. He deleted it.
He looked back at Leo. "So? Will you be mine? For real this time?"
Outside, the moon was full.
And for the first time in a month, Leo’s wolf stopped crying.
