Damien’s hands were shaking.
He held the smudged report up to the light. The name was deliberately blurred. Water stains. Too perfect to be an accident.
“Run another test,” he growled at the head doctor. “On my ex-fiancée. Now. Use a different lab.”
“Sir, that will take 48 hours—”
“I don’t care if it takes 48 minutes!”
His phone buzzed. Unknown number.
“Alpha Blackwood,” a cold voice said. “We checked the lab records. Selena Vance paid $50,000 yesterday. For a ‘rush job’ and a ‘custom result’.”
Damien’s wolf roared. “Where is she?”
“Gone. Checked out of her hotel 20 minutes ago.”
He hung up. Turned to Leo’s bed.
Empty.
IV on the floor. Oxygen mask discarded.
“Leo!”
The nurse ran in. “She woke up 10 minutes ago. Said she needed air. We thought—”
“She’s pregnant and bleeding!” Damien was already running. “Find her!”

2 HOURS LATER
---
Rain. Cold. Shah Alam at 2AM.
Leo sat at a bus stop. Soaked. Hugging herself. Her stomach cramped.
The baby.
Her phone lit up. 27 missed calls. All Damien.
A text popped up from an unknown number:
[Selena: Run all you want, diner girl. No one wants a used Omega with a bastard baby. Even the Alpha’s DNA test says it’s mine 😉]
Leo threw the phone into a puddle.
She stood. Took one step.
Pain shot through her.
Blood.
On her dress.
“Please... not my baby...” she whispered.
Right then, headlights. A black car screeched to a stop.
Damien jumped out. No umbrella. Soaked. Desperate.
“Leo!” He dropped to his knees in the rain. “I’m sorry. The test was fake. It’s NOT his. It’s OURS. Please come with me.”
Leo looked at him. Tears mixing with rain. “How do I know you’re not lying too?”
Damien grabbed her hand. Pressed it to his chest. Over his heart.
“Because I would rather die than lose you and our pup.”
Another cramp. Leo gasped.
Damien’s eyes went wide. “Baby... we need to go. NOW.”
He picked her up. Ran to the car.
As they drove away, Damien’s phone rang.
Head doctor: “Alpha. The new DNA results are in. 99.99% match. The baby is yours.”
Damien looked at Leo in the passenger seat. Pale. In pain.
“Step on it,” he told the driver. “To the hospital. Fast.”
But in the backseat, Leo’s eyes closed.
