Hello, I'm Cora. I live with my stepdad Jaylen, my mom Ella, and my stepsister Lorelei, my age. However, my family's background is different. Let me take you back to a time before I was born when my mom was still with my dad, Derek before he left on my fifth birthday. Ella and Derek met in elementary school and shared a close friendship. When they discovered they'd attend the same high school and realized their mutual feelings, Derek asked her to be his girlfriend. Ella was thrilled, leaping into his arms and sealing the moment with a passionate kiss. Afterward, they went home individually to share the news with their parents. Derek believed his parents, Izzy and Matt, would be upset since they planned to help him find a girlfriend, but instead, they congratulated him. Meanwhile, as she walked home, Ella felt anxious about how her parents, Anna and Caleb, would react. Upon arriving home and revealing the news, her parents scolded her instead of congratulating her, expressing their disappointment, and grounding her. Upset, she ran to her room, wishing for Derek's comforting voice. She called Derek and informed him she was grounded and confined to her room due to their parent's anger. To ease her worries, Derek assured her his parents were excited about their relationship. However, Ella's parents confiscated her phone and insisted on meeting her boyfriend in two months.

Two months later, Derek and his family traveled to Ella's house. As they drew near, they noticed Ella outside. Worried, Derek asked how she was doing, and Ella admitted she needed a break from her controlling parents, who had become intrusive since finding out about her relationship. Upon entering the house, Ella introduced Derek's family to her parents. Unfortunately, tensions escalated when Caleb and Anna scolded Ella, mistakenly thinking she had pursued Derek without his knowledge. In defense, Derek's parents, Izzy and Matt, strongly supported Derek and Ella's relationship, insisting that love must triumph over all challenges. Derek clarified their relationship to ease Ella's worries, as she had previously faced ridicule from her parents about her romantic life. Eventually, Ella confessed she wanted to ask Derek to be her boyfriend, but he had already done so, highlighting the strength of their friendship. Initially, Ella experienced a sense of relief as the pain associated with childbirth subsided; however, as she began to mourn the loss of her baby, she expressed dissatisfaction with the nursing staff. Subsequently, another episode of intense pain overcame her, prompting the medical team to perform an ultrasound, which unexpectedly revealed the presence of a second baby girl. This revelation left Ella in a state of shock and exhaustion following the arduous ordeal of labor. Throughout labor, Ella confronted the complication of her second baby being in a breech position. The medical team cautioned her that the process of repositioning the baby would be exceedingly painful, and despite the foreseen discomfort, she consented to undergo the procedure. As the doctor exerted pressure on Ella's abdomen to adjust the baby's position, she let out a heartrending cry, striving to withstand the excruciating pain while remaining acutely aware of the movements of her baby within her.
