Floyd's nonchalant attitude eased Clara's tension slightly. With a nod, she followed him to Bradley Green's study.
After knocking and receiving permission, they stepped inside.
Bradley gestured for Clara to sit, his warm smile apologizing for Amara's earlier tantrum.
Listening to him speak, Clara felt that familiar sense of connection again.
"Consider this your home for as long as you wish," Bradley concluded warmly.
"Thank you, Uncle. I'll move out once I find another place," Clara replied.
Bradley waved a hand. "Don't be silly! This house has more rooms than we need. If you insist, just pay Floyd some rent—still better than dealing with strangers as landlords..."
Floyd cleared his throat, muttering, "Tone it down, Dad. You're overwhelming her. Though the rent idea isn't bad."
