16. New lives, new beginnings

Third person’s POV

The meditation helped Diane and she started getting little pieces of her memories back. It was still slower than she wanted but she realized that instead of focusing on remembering everything, she had to clear her mind in order for it to fill up again. They also noticed that the tattoo that was counting down her lives was now increasing with every new full moon.

She extended her training in martial arts too and that helped her free her mind and accept the pace the puzzle parts were coming to her. 

It took her two years to remember her name was Selene and that she lived in another realm. Daniel and Gabriella were happy with the progress she was showing. Every big memory she gained revealed a new word from the prophecy. 

One day during lunch Selene’s hand began glowing again and they knew that meant that the prophecy revealed another part of itself.

“Hard choices would be made 

to create the perfect mate”

They already knew not to dwell on every revelation and that they must wait for the whole prophecy to come to them in order to start dwelling on what the words meant. Also Danny was worried about Gabriella and that occupied his mind. She was feeling sick the last few mornings and got tired easily, so he decided to call Cary.

When Cary heard Gabriella’s symptoms, she smiled. She knew what was wrong with Ella but she also knew that Danny wouldn’t be satisfied until she was checked by a doctor. She promised Danny to contact the witches and send them someone to check on his mate.

Gabriella and Daniel were in their office when a portal opened and revealed Merriah and another woman with a suitcase. 

Merriah gave Gabby a warm hug and they exchanged a knowing look. Gabriella already suspected what was going on and was planning to buy a pregnancy test but for her mate’s sake she let him take care of her.

Of course their suspicions were correct and Danny was beyond happy when he learned that he would be a father soon. The doctor who came with Merriah was from Blue Moon pack and offered to monitor the pregnancy every other week and she would move in with them the last month of her pregnancy. 

The couple gratefully accepted her offer and Merriah conjured a crystal that would open a portal for the doctor to come and go when needed. Soon the couple was given the news that they were actually expecting twins. Gabby and Danny couldn’t be happier. Danny was dotting all over his mate and his care was becoming close to madness but Gabriella didn’t mind. She actually enjoyed it.

The pregnancy was relatively easy, they continued meditating and practicing martial arts but Gabby stopped sparring. Capoeira and Silat were her favorites and she was getting into a trance-like state while doing her routine. Daniel enjoyed watching her, she looked so graceful he was hypnotized, like her trance-like state was pulling him in it too.

Also her pregnancy was making her glow with happiness and watching Gabby training made Danny want her and they usually ended up having s*x after it. 

Caroline was a bit worried to share the news about Gabriella’s pregnancy with Nate but he was happy for his ex-mate and his brother. He had moved on and found his happiness in Caroline and Zane and he felt good when he thought that Gabriella and Danny’s family would grow soon. He was also excited to become an uncle.

Months went on, Selene kept regaining her memories slowly but they still didn’t make much sense. Gabriella’s delivery was fairly easy, Danny was next to her the whole time encouraging her. They named their first daughter Lorelei Fate Moore and the second - Jasmine Mae Moore, suggested by Selene herself. 

The girls were like angels, they were no trouble for their parents and were always smiling. The twins enjoyed watching their parents train and started copying their moves. The more they grew the better they got in Gabriella’s favorite Capoeira and silat. The family often took the girls for a run with their wolves in the forest or they went for a picnic on the beach. 

Lorelei preferred the forest, she felt drawn to it. She enjoyed every little flower she saw on the forest floor, she loved touching the trees and their leaves, she felt connected to it. Jasmine, on the other hand, loved the beach. The sand under her little feet filled her body with warmth. The sea waves hypnotized her, she often looked toward the horizon with dreamy eyes. 

Besides their looks, this was the only difference between the twins so far. Lorelei had light blond straight hair, almost white. She had big dark eyes framed with thick eyelashes. Her honey skin and rosy cheeks made her look angelic.

Jasmine’s hair was dark with a blue hue and fell in long beach waves. Her golden skin made her light blue eyes look almost icy.

Zane was a quiet pup. He enjoyed being outside and doing stuff with his dad and asking him questions about how the pack works. His mom would read to him about the history of their kind or tell him the stories about their adventures. He knew about the fated mates, the Fates, the Witches council. He loved all the stories. 

Zane loved watching his parents train and that was one of his favorite things to do. Cary and Nate mostly trained Aikido and kung-fu and Zane was mesmerized by their movements and how in sync they were. He soon started copying their moves and the pride he saw in his parents’ eyes motivated him to train harder even though he was only 5. 

Zane loved the forest and asked his father to help him build a treehouse. Nathaniel agreed and they made the best fortress where Zane often sneaked out after dinner to look up at the moon and the stars. 

As he grew up his connection to the forest grew stronger and at the age of 10 he built a cabin under the treehouse and vowed that when he got older he would connect them. He also developed an interest in arts. His favorite ones were sculpture and drawing. But he also loved observing his pack members and how they lived.

Daniel’s POV

Today is our daughter’s 9th birthday. Our isolated life robbed my pups from having friends so all their celebrations were with us. Me and Gabby tried to compensate for that by trying to make every birthday unique and special. 

We found a spot on the beach where the seacoast was narrow and the forest was very close to the sea. It was perfect for our pups. Gabriella and Selene are currently there preparing for our little celebration and I am chasing the girls trying to dress them up. I am losing the battle of course, and I can’t even be mad at the pups, they are so joyful. 

After a couple of hours of chasing Jasmine and Lorelei, we were ready to go find their mom and aunt Selene. When we reached the spot, it was already late afternoon and the sun was on the other side of the forest. The place was decorated with lights, and there was a playground.

As soon as the girls saw the scene, they started jumping up and down, squealing in excitement. Gabriella came to us and the twins jumped in her arms. 

“Do you like it, baby girls?” 

“Yes, mommy, it’s perfect!” they both said in unison.

“Happy birthday, girls” I said. “Go and enjoy the playground”

The girls ran excitedly and started playing, I hugged Gabby and kissed her. She gave me the perfect gift - the perfect family. We sat down on the blanket on the sand and Gabby leaned her head on my shoulder and I let out a sigh of contentment. The girls were running around enjoying themselves, Selene joined them too.

When the dawn came, Gabby called the twins. 

“It’s time for your presents, baby girls. Are you ready?” Gabby told them

“Yes” they squealed and started jumping up and down. I swear their excitement was so contagious that even though I knew what their presents were I felt excited to see what was in the boxes.

We gave the girls their presents, we got them each a drawing toolkit because they both loved drawing. Lorelei preferred charcoal and Jasmine - painting. We got them both a karaoke because they loved singing and they had angelic voices. 

“I have one more present for you, girls.” Gabby said and that got their attention again

“Actually, this gift is for you and daddy” She continued and that got me confused. I don’t remember us buying anything else for the girls.

Again, the pups’ excitement got me eager, too. Gabby gave each of us a little box. We opened the boxes and there was something that looked like a weird looking pill, mine was bigger than the twins’. Underneath it, there was a note saying “Put me in water”. At this point I was really confused and so were the twins but Jasmine ran to the sea excitedly, as she saw an opportunity to play in the water.

Lorelei and I followed her and we threw our ‘pills’ in the water. As soon as we neared the sea, the waves calmed and we saw the pills dissolve and forming a fabric. They soon started to look like t-shirts. I took them and gave the girls theirs, looking at mine confused.

There were letters on every t-shirt. The girls’ said ‘Best big sis’ and mine said ‘Daddy of three’. My eyes widened and I looked in Gabby’s eyes for confirmation.

“Are you… are we…” somehow I found it hard to form a sentence.

“I am pregnant” Gabby said

“Are we going to be big sisters to a new baby, mommy?” Lorelei asked

“Yes, baby girl” I said walking towards my mate

“When is he coming?” Jasmine asked

“Why do you think it will be a boy?” Gabby chuckled, but Jasmine just shrugged her shoulders.

“We dreamed of him, mommy” Lorelei said

I couldn’t contain my joy. I played with the girls the rest of the night, I shifted and let Roden play with the twins too. Gabriella and Selene were sitting on the blanket watching with smiles on their faces. When it got dark, we headed home and after we put the girls to sleep, I paid special attention to my pregnant mate. Her pregnancy used to make me really horny and the thought of her carrying my pup again made my d**k hard.

The next morning we went for training as usual but Selene didn’t show up and that was weird. She was devoted to training as it helped her regain her memories and she really wanted to know who she was and what had happened to her.

We proceeded with our session because the girls insisted on it. As  soon as we were done, we went to Selene’s room. She was sleeping in her bed but her body was glowing softly in moonlight color.

Caroline’s POV

I was so excited, I needed to find Nate and tell him the news right now. I reached his office and was about to knock but the door opened and I was immediately engulfed in a warm hug.

“I felt your joy. What got you so happy?” Nate asked before pecking my lips and nuzzling me

“You” I giggled. “I have something for you” I smiled at him

His chest vibrated with a low growl and I was quickly pulled inside the office and pinned to the wall. Nate kissed me passionately and I immediately forgot what I came here for. His hand trailed up my leg until it reached my underwear. Nate extended a claw and gently ripped my panties out of my body. His hands cupped my asscheeks and he lifted me up, my legs surrounding his waist.

He entered me without a warning and I couldn’t help the loud moan that escaped my mouth. 

Nate's thrusts were fast and deep and I could feel Atlas sharing control with him. Tsunami also surfaced, which increased my senses greatly and I came immediately. Nate was kissing my neck and I came hard again when he nipped my mark. He followed a couple of thrusts after me.

I looked deep into his eyes, cupping his face while he was still inside me.

“I’m pregnant” I whispered and I felt him getting hard again

He moved us to the couch and continued our celebration with a few more passionate rounds. We decided to have a private family dinner with Zane to tell him the news.

Zane wasn’t surprised, he said he dreamed last night that he had a sister and she was beautiful and he promised her to always protect her. We decided to sleep together in our bedroom tonight and as soon as we hit the pillows we fell asleep.

Gabriella’s POV

We were worried about Selene and tried to contact Cary or the witches but for some reason we couldn't.  Lorelei and Jasmine said they felt their aunt was peacefully asleep but we didn’t know what to think about it. We just hoped that we would have help soon.

In the evening, after we checked on Selene and saw her condition hadn't changed, we decided to go to bed and if we didn’t get help in the morning we would look for a supernatural doctor to help us.

As soon as we hit the pillows we fell asleep. I knew what this meant - a visit from Fates. Sure enough we found ourselves in the beautiful meadow but this time our twins were with us, two pups playing with them and Calypso and Roden watching over them protectively. 

Our twins weren’t the only ones with us though. As soon as I saw him, I locked eyes with him. We slowly approached each other and he took my hands in his.

“Gabriella” he breathed

“Nate” I whispered and buried my face in his chest. He caressed my hair gently.

“We will give you guys some privacy” Danny said

“We won’t feel any pain from the bond while we are here in the meadow” he added through our mindlink.

I looked in Nate’s eyes and I know he felt the same way as me. The feeling of our loss will always be there deep within our hearts, but we have found our way through the dark times and we are healed now. We have moved on and are happy with what we have. 

“We don’t need it.” I smiled softly at Nate and then stepped back from his hug and went to my mate and pecked his lips. Nate did the same. 

“You are my present, Danny, and my future. Nothing will change that. I love you” I mindlinked him and he smiled at me.

I went towards Carolina, I knew she felt awkward, so I made the first step. 

“I missed you so much, Cary” I said and I hugged her tight. “How are you feeling?”

“I am doing OK, Ella. I missed my best friend” she said through tears. Danny and Nate gave each other a bro hug.

“Girls, come here” I called for our daughters. “Meet your aunt Caroline and uncle Nate.” Danny took their hands and brought them to us. They shyly hid behind his legs but Cary kneeled to their level and smiled softly to them while extending her hands.

“Helo, girls. I’ve heard so much about you. I am so happy to finally meet you. May I have a hug?”

The girls hesitated for a few seconds but then ran towards her open arms. Nate went closer and asked for their permission to join the hug and the twins accepted.

“You must be Zane. I am aunt Gabriella and here is your father’s brother - uncle Danny. We are so excited to meet you.” I said to the shy boy who was standing awkwardly close to Cary.

“Are you Ella from mom’s stories? Her best friend and dad’s first mate?” Zane’s question left me taken aback for a minute but I nodded.

“Yes, I am.” I said and held his hands in mine. He didn’t object

“Are you going to take daddy from mommy?” he asked, his eyes filled with tears. I wasn’t sure how honest I should be so I looked at Cary and she nodded her head which I took as a sign to be honest with their pup.

“No, sweety. Your dad belongs to your mom now and I belong to your uncle. We love each other only as friends now, just like it was before we found out we were mates.” I told Zane, hoping that my answer will ease his little heart.

“OK, aunty. I believe you.” he said and I gave him a warm hug, Danny joined us.

“Do you have more stories to tell?” Zane’s eyes twinkled with excitement. 

“Yes, many” I giggled and he squealed excitedly

“Come, meet your cousins. These are Lorelei and Jasmine. Girls, this is Zane, your cousin.” I introduced them

“Hi,” my girls said shyly in unison. 

“Want to play?” Zane asked them and they all ran towards the woods.

“So why are we here?” Nate asked

“I think it has something to do with Selene’s condition. We haven’t been able to wake her all day and her body is glowing. The twins said she is sleeping but we are not sure what is going on. Sometimes they know things.” Daniel answered.

“She is in a moon coma” Fates said, surprising us with their appearance

“What does that mean exactly?” Nathaniel asked

“Her memories are coming back one by one. As a goddess who has lived for eons, she has a lot of memories to regain and her body sent her into a coma. It may take awhile, though, so you have to take care of her body as she is still mortal.”

“Can’t you take her back to your realm?” Cary asked

“It’s not the right time yet. She needs to have her memories first.”

“I think it would be best if you all move back to Blue Moon. Your mission of finding Selene is complete. I still don’t have a betta and Daniel is the best one for the role.” Nathaniel said

Danny locked eyes with me, and I knew he wanted to go back. I wanted the same.

“I think it’s a great idea. And the girls need to socialize more and learn about pack life.” Danny said, his excitement evident in his voice. 

“We will send the witches to help you move. It’s too dangerous to transport Selene unconscious.” Fates said.

“Ok then, I guess we’ll see you soon, Alpha, Luna” I said and bowed playfully at Nate and Cary. We all laughed.
