30. So, daddy wants to play?

Ben's POV

We were at our new home with Iris and Noah.

“So we just moved in here and there isn’t much furniture” Rob said to the pups nervously

“But we can go shopping tomorrow” I suggested

“You can look around and choose your rooms,” Rob said. Noah and Iris ran towards the guestrooms, Noah slowed down a step behind Iris to see which room she would choose and chose the one next to hers. I smiled.

“Great choice, guys. Let’s go introduce you to the others.” I said

“Guys can we meet? We have some news” I opened mindlink for Nate, Cary, Ella and Danny

“Sure, we are in the office” Nate said

We went to the office and entered with Iris and Noah next to us.

“We visited the orphanage today” Rob started

“And we adopted Noah and Iris,” I blurted out. I was excited but also nervous to hear the others’ opinion.

“It is very nice to meet you, Iris and Noah. Welcome to our family. I am alpha Nathaniel but you can call me uncle Nate” the alpha said

“And I am Luna Carolina or aunt Cary for you”

“I am betta Daniel, or uncle Danny or just Danny” he winked

“And I am Betta Gabriella, you can call me aunt Ella or just Ella” Gabriella came closer and hugged them. “You have the best dads, I hope you will be good to them. Welcome to our family. You can come to us anytime for anything” me and Rob relaxed. For some reason we cared about Gabriella’s opinion the most.

“Our pups are playing in the nursery, would you like to join them?” Ella offered and Noah and Iris nodded. The babysitter came and led the pups to play with the others

“So you are now dads, huh? Just like that?” Danny asked

“How did you decide this so suddenly?” Ella asked and we told them about everything that happened.

“I think you will be good for them and I am sure you would be great dads” Ella said

“And if you aren’t that great, we can always replace them. The orphanage is full of pups” Danny joked and Ella nudged him with her elbow, glaring at him. He put his hands up in surrender. 

His joke wasn't funny but their interaction was so we all laughed. Danny rolled his eyes but his smile gave him away. He adored Ella. 

"So what are your plans?" Ella asked. 

"We still need furniture for the apartment, so we thought we could go shopping tomorrow." I said

"Why wait for tomorrow? Go now, you still have a couple of hours before training" Cary suggested. 

"We were going to spend time with the kids and observe their gifts. We also wanted to start training them." 

"One day wouldn't hurt. You need beds for your pups" Daniel chuckled. 

We went to the nursery to get Noah and Iris and the scene before us melted my heart. Iris was curled up on a bean bag, cuddling her teddy bear that she brought, Noah was sitting on the floor next to her protectively. Jasmine squealed excitedly when she saw us and ran toward us to hug us and Noah growled in warning. 

“We have to be quiet not to wake Iris” she whispered and giggled. Then she ran towards Noah and kissed his cheek. 

“You will be a great protector” she whispered and kissed his cheek, Noah blushed.

Iris started to stir and her eyes fluttered open. She looked over Noah and her cheeks tinted pink. 

“Did you have a good rest, Iris” Rob had to break the cute interaction. I shook my head.

“Yes, daddy” she replied enthusiastically and Rob’s body tensed, Iris pouted. “Can I call you daddy?”

“Of course, sweetheart. We are a family now and we would be happy if you two call us dad, daddy, father.. whatever makes you feel comfortable” Rob replied. We walked towards them and sat on the floor facing them. Noah was deep in thoughts. 

“What is it, Noah? You can call us by our names if you prefer. We wouldn’t mind that either.” I tried to assure him.

“It’s not that. Nevermind.” he shook his head

“We will figure it out together in time” I said and he nodded

“We came to take you shopping for furniture. How do you feel about it?” Rob said. Their faces lit up and they jumped on us giggling.

We managed to order beds, desks and some bean bags for Noah and Iris. Their rooms already had walk-in closets so they didn’t need wardrobes. They chose some sheets and blankets and we also bought a TV for the living room area. We decided not to have TVs for the bedrooms and make watching TV our family thing. We also ordered a kitchen to Rob’s liking because he is the chef in our family but it would be ready in a week.

We headed home and when we reached, some omegas were already working on assembling the furniture that was delivered. We thanked them and offered to help but they refused so we sent the kids to the nursery and headed to the training grounds.

In the middle of the training we noticed all the pups standing to the sides, watching us. Noah was trying to copy our moves and Zane was helping him. Jasmine and Lorelei were teaching Iris. They seemed to get along well and that made me really happy.

After the training we all had showers and headed to the common dining room for dinner. The dinner was amazing, Ella cooked it and Rob and her started talking about cooking and exchanging recipes and tricks. It sounded like a foreign language to me, I couldn’t cook a sandwich, but Rob’s excitement warmed my heart. 

The whole time we held hands or I had my arm around his shoulders or the other way around but we had to have physical contact all the time. The pups were chattery too and the atmosphere was that of a big happy family. Not that I knew what it felt like having a family, but that is how I felt in this crowd. I felt at home. I felt like I belonged and I felt happy and complete.

“School is starting soon. Are you planning to sign Iris and Noah at Blue Moon Elementary?” Ella interrupted my train of thoughts.

“We haven’t had the time to discuss it yet” I looked at Rob

“I was thinking it would be better for them to finish elementary school at the orphanage.” Rob said and I was actually thinking the same

“Are you sending us back? Do you not want us anymore?” Iris’ eyes filled with tears and her lower lip quivered. Noah was shooting daggers at us.

“What? Of course not, baby girl” Rob cooed and went to her to hug her. I followed him

“We meant to send you there in the mornings and pick you up after your classes are over. The teachers there are good and you already know your classmates. We didn’t want to change too much in your lives too fast.” I explained.

“But do you promise to always take us home and never leave us there?” Iris wanted to be sure

“Of course, baby girl. Every day” I said and kissed her head

“And even if Noah tells you to leave him?”

“We are family now, Iris. We won’t leave Noah there” Rob said

“We were thinking of sending the girls to the orphanage, too. We homeschooled them until now but it will be better for them to start going to school and Ella thinks it would be good to finish elementary at the orphanage and I agree.” Danny said

“Then I am going there too” Zane said resolutely

“I don’t mind. Zane has been homeschooled too, but he needs to have more interactions with the pack members as the future alpha” Nate said and looked at Cary

“Yeah, I agree. It’s settled then. All pups will be going to the orphanage elementary school” Cary said. Iris visibly relaxed but Noah was deep in his thoughts again. I made a mental note to talk to him later.

After we said our goodnights we headed to our apartment and we decided to have our first family time watching a movie. Frozen by Iris’ choice. In the middle of the movie she fell asleep and Rob took her to her bed. Noah wasn’t paying attention to the TV at all so I stopped the movie and turned to him.

“You have been thinking about something ever since we said you could call us dads. What is bothering you? You can tell me everything.” I said

“I…” he hesitated for a moment and then took a deep breath in. “I really want to be a family with you and Rob. And I want you to be my fathers but does it mean that Iris will be my sister?” he finally asked

“Why does that bother you? Do you not like Iris? Do you really hate her?” I asked. I knew he didn't hate her, but his question confused me.

“It’s not that… I don’t like her as a sister. I think she is my mate and I can’t be her brother” he was serious

“Noah, werewolves feel their mates when they turn 18. You can’t be sure about that.” Rob joined us

“But I am not a normal wolf. I am a hybrid between a werewolf and a witch. I am also not 7 years old.” he sighed and rubbed his face with his hands

“But you acted like a kid earlier,” I said. He really did

“It is because I was a kid. I remembered everything when you said we could call you dads. It is a long story”

“We have time. We need to know everything” Rob said

“I am 341 years old and I was  one of the witches’ council. I lead a wreckless s*x life and that came back to bite my ass. Long story short, one of my ex-lovers cursed me because she was insanely in love with me. She said if she couldn’t have me no one would. Of course she couldn’t kill me so she cursed me and everyone thought I was dead but I was just reborn every 10 years. I ended up in different families. Every time when I turn 10 I die. I never knew who I was until now. When you found us at the orphanage and then offered to take us in, it all came to me.”

He sighed and looked at us, we just nodded for him to continue. Nothing is surprising me anymore. 

“This time I was born to a werewolf and a witch and I think this can help me break the curse but I also have to live the life of a 7 year old with my 6 year old mate as my sister.” 

“I think I have an idea. Two ideas actually.” Noah and Rob looked at me questioningly. 

“First, Jasmine might be able to help with the curse. She is like a neutralizer. And second, maybe the high witches can help us conceal your memories for the time being so you can live a normal life as a kid. We will raise you and train you.”

“So f*****g hot” Rob said in our mindlink

“Ok, let’s do that tomorrow. I will leave you to it now” Noah said and bolted to his room. I launched myself at Rob and attacked his lips
