ON MY BIRTHDAY

(CHAPTER ONE)
THE DAY ANNA HAD TO SAY GOODBYE TO HER FAMILY
Anna finally reached eighteen, the exact age for the deal to be done. The first thing her father and her mother did was to celebrate her birthday before his friend would arrive to take her away.
The party was really a big party, all her families came to celebrate her, her two friends, Zoey and Mira came and even some of her fans came too. They gave her so many gifts and she was so excited.
Then her father received a call, his phone rang frequently and when he checked, it was his friend (Mr John). He hurried to his wife and told her and she insisted he takes the call while she goes to arrange Anna's things for her leaving and he agreed.
Her father went to his room and answered the call.
"Why didn't you answer my call?"
His friend said in an annoyed tone.
"I.... I was in a noisy place. Please don't be angry"
Her father said in a pleading tone.
His friend sighed and said in an annoying tone.
"You have luck i am in a good mood, if not i would have unleash my anger on you"
Her father's heart skipped a beat at his words.
His friend continued.
"Anyway, i am at your gate. Make sure your daughter is ready for her leave. No excuses"
He was referring to the party going on.
Her father was shocked.
"You mean.... But my...."
He said but was cut off.
His friend said in anger.
"I said no excuses! Have you forgotten the deal? Or do you want your precious daughter to be an orphan? You know, i can make it happen right now. So mysteriously!"
He threatened.
Her father had no choice.
"Please don't! Please don't! I will go bring her for you.... immediately!"
He pleaded.
His friend gave a victorious smile
"Be quick about it!"
He said and hang up.
Her father hurried immediately to look for his wife. Then he met hee and Anna outside, Anna asking questions on why her luggages are outside and her mother telling her to calm down.
He came and Anna rushed to him.
"Daddy!"
Anna hugged him.
He hugged her back.
Anna looked at him.
"Dad, mummy brought my luggages out. I have been trying to ask why but she keeps on telling me to calm down. Is she trying to chase me away? Dad, do something!"
She said, holding his arm.
He sighed and placed his hand on her both shoulders.
"Anna, i am sorry. I am very very sorry for everything. Every single thing!"
He apologized in tears.
Anna became confused. Sorry? Everything?.
Anna looks at the both of them.
"Sorry for what? All have ever happen was a happy moment. What then are you saying?"
Anna asked in confusion.
Her mother stepped forward.
"We had a deal.... A contract marriage"
She said, tears in her eyes.
Anna gasped in shock.
"Deal? Contract marriage? Where is all these coming from? How?"
She asked in tears.
Her father looks down in sadness.
"All i ever wanted was to live with you together as family but i never prayed a day like this will come especially now!...."
He looks at her with sad tears.
"Find a place in your heart to forgive me!"
He pleaded.
Anna looks at him.
"I don't get it! What is this deal all about? Most especially the contract marriage!"
Anna asked with anger, trying not to raise her voice.
Her mother said sadly.
"You will be marrying your father's friend son as exchange of the money your father borrowed from him. That was the deal"
Her mother explained.
This made Anna felt bad in a way she couldn't tell. What about her career? What about her freedom? Would it end there?. She couldn't ask since she was in pain already.
"And what are the consequences?"
Anna asked like she knew there was.
"We.... we will die"
Her father replied softly.
Anna nods. Another problem. She doesn't want to marry yet she doesn't want her parents to die.
So, she had no choice but she only did it because of them.
