ANNA'S REGRETS FROM ACCEPTING IN THE FIRST PLACE
Anna finally entered the mansion. It was a beautiful place, maids walking about for their duties. Then she looked at Mr John and the two ladies sitting by his side, one of them asked if he was taking a third girl, but he shaked his head.
I stood in a distant.
"So, now i am here. What next?"
She asked, regretting why she always ask.
He cleared his throat.
"The first thing, you need to know is the rules and regulations of this house"
He said.
Anna sighed. Great! Now, i need rules!.
He continued.
"No cooking of meat, just raw"
He said.
Anna looked up in shock.
Anna asked immediately.
"Humans eat cooked meat, not raw!"
She complained.
He exclaimed.
"That's my rules! Not yours!"
He said in an angry tone.
Anna kept shut.
He then continues.
"Two is for you to watch the way you talk!"
He pointed.
Anna pointed at herself.
"Me? I am not a chatty!"
She said.
He nods.
"Yes, you are. I have been telling you to watch it ever since I brought you here. Isn't that right?"
He asked to confirm and she nods in confirmation.
He then called one of his maid and she came.
He whispered to her ears
"Take her to her room. My son's room"
He said quietly and his maid nods and walked towards Anna.
She took her luggages.
"Let me take you to your room, Mrs"
She said respectively.
Anna followed her, giving her suspicious glance but she just smiled.
Anna looked away, wondering what he whispered that he don't want her to hear.
She sighed then thought about his son and where he could be.
She turned to the maid.
"Do you have any idea of where your boss's son might be?"
She asked.
The maid shaked her head.
"No. His son doesn't tell anyone where he is going. But, he will be back"
She said softly.
Anna crossed her arms on disbelief.
"How can his son be absent at my arrival?"
She said with a frown.
The maid looked at her.
"Are you desperate to see him?"
She asked.
Anna heart skipped at her question.
Anna shaked her head, waving her hand.
"No! I am not! And never! I just want to see the guy i am betrothed to!"
She said.
The maid smiled at her.
"He is a handsome guy and has cold attitude. Takes him time to be angry, but when he is, he becomes dangerous"
She said.
Anna heart raced. What kind of danger?.
She shaked her head from the thought then looked at the maid.
Anna asked quietly.
"Why do they prefer raw meat instead of cooked?"
The maid looked away immediately.
"That is something i can't tell you. You will know why when the time comes"
She said in a low tone.
Anna looked at her before looking away.
So, they entered the room. The maid arranged her luggages at a spot then walked towards her.
"I am Mary, by the way. If you need anything, let me know"
The maid said, bowed and left.
Anna watched her leave then she closed the door.
Anna sat on the well arranged bed, her mind raced with thought. Everyone is keeping secret from me, even the maid. How can i be safe in a house full of hidden secret?. No one wants to answer me.
Anna sighed and went to freshen up in the bathroom.
So, her father's friend son (Andrew) arrived home.
He walked into the house and saw his father.
"Evening, Dad"
He greeted respectively.
His father looked at him.
"Where are you coming from?!"
He asked.
Andrew sighed.
"Somewhere"
He replied, avoiding his father's gaze.
His father said.
"Somewhere?! Didn't you know today was the day for you to see your contracted wife?"
He asked with a frown.
Andrew looks at him.
"Wife? I thought this was a joke"
He said.
His father chuckled.
"You thought because you were little when i told you. But, it is real and no escaping!"
He said calmly.
Andrew frowned.
"Dad, you know i am not ready for marriage yet! I still wanna be single"
He complained.
