When the vortex of energy that Hadjar had released finally disappeared, a dragon’s maw formed behind it. It was even taller than the sand monster was at the withers, and so dense that it felt like an actual Lord of the Heavens had come forth. Its black eyes glittered with snakelike pupils of bright azure, and its fangs were scarlet. Hadjar swung his blade down in a lethally sharp motion. Heavy, black clouds rammed against each other in the sky. Plunging the world into a dark haze, they brought a storm with them.
