Control Your Hands

1630 Words
When I first saw her walk into the backyard, I couldn’t help but admire her. f**k she’s gorgeous. Her current outfit leaves little to the imagination. I can see all the tattoos on her legs that were hidden from view before as well as some peeking out from the bottom of her shirt. I had very conflicting desires to take more of her clothes off and to cover her up. I want to see more, but I don’t want anybody else looking at her. I glance around at the crowd and notice that basically every male in the room is mentally undressing her. I  don’t blame them, but it still pisses me off. When Xander follows my gaze and sees her, he stands up, makes his way over and hugs her. The smile she gives him causes a pang of jealousy to shoot through me. After a short conversation, he drags her and her friends over to us and states that we will be playing “Never have I ever.” Throughout the entire game, I focus on only her responses and I can tell that she’s paying attention to me too. Every time she drinks I picture her doing whatever it is with someone else and I can’t stop the anger that flows through me. I know she sees it in my eyes, but I can’t control it. After the game, Xander suggests we fill our drinks and play something else. Monroe says she’ll go and then Xander volunteers me to go as well.  When we make it to the kitchen, my brain is still hazy with anger and jealousy so I turn to her and before I can stop myself I say, “So, it seems you’ve got quite the adventurous history.” She shoots me a deadly glare and says, “Seems you do too.” Fuck. Why did I say that? I shift my weight and reply, “Sorry. I don’t know why I said that.” I run my fingers through my hair, internally cursing myself. “It’s okay,” she says. I look over to her and ask, “You wanna do a shot with me before we go back?” She nods so I reach for the bottle of tequila “This okay?” She nods again. I hand her a shot and then knock my cup against hers before we both shoot back the liquor. I notice that her face remains completely neutral and I try to conceal my surprise when I say, “I’m impressed. Also, you look, really good tonight.” f**k. Why did I say that? This girl has a way of making my mouth say things before my brain can catch up. I quickly grab the liquor so I can avoid her response to that and walk back outside.  The game of Truth or Dare begins and when I have to do a body shot off of Monroe, I don’t hesitate. I feel her clench under my tongue and I want to keep going but I remember that we’re being watched. I don't pay much attention after that until I hear Maddy dare Monroe to make out with Xander. I’m still glaring at Maddy when I hear Xander say, “Why not? It’s just a game.” I look at her just in time to see her smirk and sit on Xander’s lap. I almost lose it seeing his hand moving higher on her leg with his other one on her throat. The countdown reaches zero, but she makes no move to stop for several more seconds. When she stands up and shoots me a look; I’m fairly certain her every move was calculated to piss me off. And she succeeded. After a few more rounds, the game has gotten stale and everyone splits up to get a drink. Fuming, I go up to Xander and he raises his hands and says, “It was her dare man.”  “You could have at least attempted to control your hands,” I say with a growl. “Sorry dude, what can I say? She’s hot as f**k. You would have done the same thing.” Unfortunately he’s right, but if that had been anyone other than Xander, I would not be this understanding about it. I walk into the house and just barely catch Monroe heading to the front porch. I decide to follow her out there. I need a smoke anyway. When I open the front door I’m surprised to see her taking a drag out of her own cigarette. “Smoking is bad for you, you know,” I say as I pull out my pack. “It’s just as bad for you as it is for me,” she shoots back. She turns around to lean against the railing and I take another drag before saying, “so, did you enjoy your little makeout session with Xander?” “I mean, yeah I can’t lie, he’s a good kisser,” she replies casually. That sentence makes me fill with rage and the irrational part of my brain acts before I can tell it to stop. I find myself dropping my cigarette and moving in front of her. I place my hands on either side of her hips, bringing my forehead to rest against hers. I look for any sign of fear or indecision in her eyes and when I find none, I slam my lips against hers. She only hesitates for a split second before she’s kissing me back. I run my hands down her body and behind her thighs, lifting her up onto the railing. Her legs automatically wrap around me and I put an arm around her lower back to hold her against me, my other arm going up to grab her hair the way I’ve wanted to since I first saw her. My brain finally catches up and I remember where we are. I need to stop this right now before I end up f*****g her on this railing. I pull away and say to her, “Do you still think he’s a good kisser?” She shakes her head and I walk away from her before she can say anything else.  Heading to the kitchen, I find Xander and a few other random people either filling up drinks or just hanging around. When I walk up to him, he hands me a cup and asks, “Where did you go off to?”  “Smoke,” I reply before gulping down half my drink. He raises an eyebrow but decides to let it go. A second later I notice most of the male gazes in the room turn towards something behind me and I have a feeling I know who it is. It takes almost all of my willpower not to turn to her so instead I watch Xander’s eyes to figure out that she walks over towards the opposite side of the island. I can just see her in my peripherals and when I see Parker walk towards her, my self-control slips and I look over.  She starts pouring her drink. When he gets to her, he stands sideways, leaning against the counter and says, “Hey Monroe,” with a smile that shows he’s trying to play the good boy, varsity athlete angle but it’s written all over his face that his intentions are less than wholesome.  She looks up at him, gives him a friendly smile and says, “Hey Parker, how’s it going?” “Pretty good. I’m glad you’re here actually. I never got a chance to tell you how impressed I was with your volleyball skills this week.” She chuckles turns to the side to face him and says, “Thanks, that’s nice of you. You know, you’re not so bad yourself.” He grins at her and then he moves a bit closer. This doesn’t go unnoticed by her and she casually moves an equal amount back. Smart girl. He continues, “I was wondering actually, if you have plans Wednesday night?” I see a defensive shield forming behind her eyes, but she keeps her face neutral when she says, “That depends. What did you have in mind?” “Well, I’m part of this intramural beach volleyball team, and I mean, it’s not super competitive or anything, but we could definitely use your skills. Games are Wednesday evenings. Would you be interested?”  She relaxes a little and says, “Yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun actually,” with a grin. He smiles widely and then says, “Cool, how about we exchange numbers and then I’ll text you the info?” She nods, pulls out her phone and unlocks it for him. He hands it back to her and before he walks away he says, “Also, you look really great tonight Monroe.”  “Thanks,” she mumbles. She waits until he’s no longer looking and rolls her eyes. A loud chuckle makes it way out of my mouth and her head snaps up to me. I can feel her irritation, but I can’t seem to wipe the smirk off my face. After a couple seconds, she huffs and walks out towards the backyard.
