Argyros POV
'' I, Liam Denzel Dawson, future Alpha of Nightshade, pack, reject you as my mate'' and for some reason, it didn't feel like thread anymore it was steel being forced to c***k under impossible pressure. My heart ripped with agony. I felt dizzy instantly, losing balance, and I falling to my knees before him. I have always been been pathetic and weak, this action only prove that fact further. It doesn't make sense, why?
'' wh...hy'' I struggled to find my breath, '' why do this'' my words shattered
'' Please don't create a scene and just accept this, Argy'' I stared up at my mate, or will I call him EX now? I had two options. I could either die from the pain of the mate bond or accept and move on from him.
''The moon goddess chose us together, Liam, how can you...''
'' I am an Alpha Argy'' cutting me off '' And I need to lead as an Alpha. I have to make decisions for the pack that involve choosing the right Luna. I need a Luna who is strong, who commands respect, bold, does not play victim, and most importantly, has a wolf, and you are just a half witch cleaner with no wolf, Argy. How do you expect me to work with that?''
'' I...'' all my life I have been moving from pack to pack, being rejected and mistreated all because I didn't have a wolf and I am a half witch with silver hair that makes it impossible to hide myself. I had thought I finally found a place when Liam and I met and he brought me to the Nightshade pack, but I was wrong. Nothing changed, but like other packs where I leave, I stayed because of Liam, because of our love, our bond. Everything will get better once we mate. I tolerated too much and now he says I play victim?
With those brutal words, he stares down at me, pity in his eyes, and for once, I feel disgusted, not at him but myself for being like this, for letting myself become like this. With my hands as support, I struggled to get back on my feet and face him. '' I, Argyros half witch cleaner with no wolf, accept your rejection'' and just like that, steel snapped in half, relieving me instantly '' Hh'' I gasp as the pain subsided, but not entirely. The bond was finally broken, leaving me with fading sparks, reminding me of what I once there. How pathetic I am, I do not even have a surname. My parent died before I was born, was what the orphanage told me.
'' You agreed easier than I thought, this is good for all of us.'' Liam smiled, then turned around and walked to Jennifer. Immediately, Jennifer wraps her arms around his shoulder.
''Finally'' she whispered giving me a mocking satisfied smile be she crashed her lips into his. Liam responded, wrapping his arms around her waist, and I remembered our first kiss. Our first kiss in the rain.
'' woooooo'' Ace cheered, and every one began to clap, smiling, laughing. Like they were all waiting for this moment to come, and it finally did.
'' At some point, I thought she would really become my Luna'' I heard someone mock from the crowd
'' Well that is in the past now. We finally have someone capable'' they teased. I didn't realize I was in tears until I felt salt in my mouth,
'' h,h,'' my gaze drifting from one person to the other, my world suddenly became dizzy. So what next? What happens next after someone gets rejected by their mate? My gaze suddenly landed on Ace. That blond fine guy with whom I wouldn't lie, beautiful blue eyes. He walks towards me with a teasing smile.
'' There is no need for you here again, I advise you to leave tonight''
'' what? Tonight?'' They were kicking me out already?
'' What did you think?'' Vanessa walks into view holding a glass of wine '' Liam has been kind enough to have you here for the past 2 years. It's time to go. Jennifer has that spot now. He doesn't need a witch like you Voom, she pulled out my cap, letting my hair pour down to my back.
'' Give me that'' I panic, i hate it, i hate that people hate me because of this hair. I reached for the cap, but she pulled away and tucked it to Ace who raise his hand, the cap beyond my reach. Though I was a tall girl, 5 feet 11 was seen as tall for a girl, but I still got beaten and bullied by girls shorter than me, not to mention a guy as huge as Ace. He carried a cold smirk and scanned me up down before locking my gaze
'' You know, I wouldn't lie, you are not totally useless, you got a fine ass, I am sure I can arrange something if you are a good girl'' he licked his lips, not the first time he gave me that look
'' Don't be stupid Ace'' Vanessa snapped '' she is a witch ''
'' A useless witch, don't forget she got no magic, but this ass is enough for me.'' The crowd laughs at his comment. Ace suddenly put his arms around my shoulder, grossing me out instantly, and I flinch at how heavy his arm is.'' Ok, come on and be a good girl'' whispering in my ear. ''Be a good girl'' I have heard those words before. From the man who almost rapped me at the orphanage when I was only 12
'' No.. get away from me'' I fought for my life, throwing his arms away, and they laughed louder, taking steps backwards. I stumbled on my feet, and my back collided with something. No, someone, someone's hard chest. Like a snap of a finger. The room fell into dead silence. That familiar scent from that hotel penthouse filled my nose, my knees grew weak from the pressure of Alpha dominance, it was too much. I noticed the fear and horror in everyone's eyes at the sight of the man behind me. I didn't need an introduction.
Ethan. The little boy's father. What the f**k is he doing here?

'' hhhhhhh'' My eyes snapped open, pulling me out of once again a dream I can not understand. My gaze traveled my environment, taking notice of where I was. The pool area of Nightshade Hotel. The pack hotel. It was empty, but the different scent of werewolf still lingers in the air, informing me that it hasn't been long since a group left. I checked my waist watch. It was past 4pm. Time to clean up, my gaze snapped to my cap on the floor next to me '' Damn it'' My heart beat skipped, and I looked around, hoping no one saw me like this. I quickly grabbed the cap and wore it, covering my silver hair, known to be my signature of a witch. I need to get home. If Liam were to find out that I work in the pack hotel, he is going to be really upset. I was his mate for goodness sake, his future Luna, I can't go around cleaning pools, but I can't sit around doing nothing all day, it is already bad enough that I do not have a wolf, sitting around doing nothing for the pack will only make things worse.
Thanks to that dream, I woke up right on time. The dream I have been having for the past 5 years. That hallway, that room, those eyes. I never get to see his face, I never get to find out what he looks like before I wake up. That is how it has been for the past 5 years now.
I went to the store room to get a mop and a bucket of water. Added soap and alcohol and took it out, then went back in, I turn on the switch to drain the pool when I heard a scream '' aaaaaaaa'' followed by the sound of water splashing. I ran out of the store to see someone struggling for help '' aaaa, help!!, help me!!, Daddy!!''
