“Mia! Did you see that? He called you ‘disaster queen’! That’s basically a love nickname!” Carla squealed.
“I… I don’t know if it’s love!” Mia protested.
Carla rolled her eyes. “Sure, sure. You’re in denial. Admit it—you’re falling for him.”
“I… I don’t know!” Mia yelled. She flung her blanket off dramatically, nearly knocking her cat off the bed.
“You’ve been saying ‘I don’t know’ for a week,” Carla teased.
“I… it’s complicated!” Mia said.
“Yes, because Ethan isn’t complicated at all,” Carla laughed.
