She and Luke had never hurt for chemistry, but she had wondered if things might be different. The phrase making love made her want to vomit, and she was a little bit afraid Luke would go overboard trying to be romantic or something. He wasn't exactly known for his subtlety.
But things between them were happily the same, if maybe just a bit more intense having been broken up for a day. He still made her laugh, he still asked her if she was okay even though it was far from the first time, and he still held her tightly afterwards. It all made her wonder if maybe they'd always been in love, or at least headed there.
“Hey, V?” he murmured into her shoulder.
“Hey, Luke?”
“I love you.” She smiled in hearing it again.
