Chapter 8
The silence in Mirha’s life did not remain just emotional anymore; it slowly began to reflect in her body as well. What started as simple tiredness gradually turned into weakness that she could no longer ignore. Some days she would wake up feeling fine for a moment, but as the day progressed, her strength would fade again, leaving her drained without any clear reason.
She tried to continue her routine as always, but it was becoming harder. Even small tasks felt heavier now. Her steps were slower, her energy was low, and her face carried a quiet exhaustion that she tried to hide from everyone.
Ali noticed it once or twice, but his response remained the same—short and distant concern that never turned into real care. There was no emotional involvement, no urgency, and no effort to understand how serious her condition was becoming.
Mirha stopped expecting anything.
She told herself she would manage.
But her body was slowly giving up on that promise.
One evening, her condition became noticeably worse. She felt a sudden wave of dizziness while moving in the house and had to hold onto the wall for support. Her vision blurred slightly, and she closed her eyes for a moment, trying to steady herself.
No one immediately realized how weak she had become.
She slowly made her way back to her room and sat down on the bed, breathing heavily. Her forehead felt warm, her body felt heavy, and her strength felt like it was slipping away little by little.
That night, she did not recover.
The fever increased, and her weakness deepened. She could barely sit properly, and even speaking felt difficult. For the first time, she truly realized that something was seriously wrong.
But still, she did not cry loudly. She simply lay there in silence, staring at the ceiling, feeling helpless and exhausted.
The next day, her condition worsened further.
She was unable to get up properly. Her body felt weak, her head was heavy, and her eyes struggled to stay open. The house noticed her condition now, but it was no longer something that could be ignored.
Ali saw her briefly, but instead of urgency, there was confusion and distance in his reaction. He asked a few words, but did not take immediate action.
Time passed slowly that day, and Mirha remained in her room, barely able to move.
By evening, her condition had become visibly serious.
Her parents were finally informed.
When her mother and father arrived, the moment they saw her, their expressions changed completely. Her mother rushed towards her immediately, her eyes filling with tears as she saw her daughter lying weak and exhausted.
“Mirha… what has happened to you?” her mother cried softly, holding her hand.
Her father stood frozen for a moment, unable to process how much she had changed. The strength she once had, the energy she once carried, all seemed gone.
Her mother sat beside her, tears falling continuously as she gently touched her face. “You didn’t tell us anything… look at your condition…”
Mirha tried to respond, but her voice was too weak.
“I am fine…” she whispered faintly, but even she knew it was not true anymore.
Her father’s expression tightened with concern. He looked at everything around him, trying to understand what had led to this state.
Her mother could not stop crying.
For her, seeing Mirha like this was unbearable.
There was a heavy silence in the room, broken only by her mother’s quiet sobs and Mirha’s weak breathing.
At that moment, it became clear that something had to change.
And this silence could no longer continue.
