It was safe to pull it out and look at it, because Addie had just stepped into the shower and probably wouldn’t be out for at least fifteen or twenty minutes. Her showers always took longer on the days when she washed her hair. Although she’d remained silent on the topic, he knew she’d begun to wonder why he hadn’t done or said anything to make their relationship more formal. Back in Wyoming when he’d told her he’d make a home wherever she was, no matter where that might be, he’d hinted at marriage, even though at that point, it had been far too early in their relationship for him to have actually asked the fateful question.
