The heavy iron doors of the truck slammed shut, leaving me in total darkness. The silver chains around my wrists and ankles burned my skin. Every bump in the road sent sharp pain straight to my empty, aching stomach.
For three days, I was kept like an animal in that iron cage. I had no water, my body was burning with a fever from the silver poison, and I could not stop thinking about my dead baby. But inside my mind, something was changing. My weak omega wolf, which had been scared and abused its whole life, stopped crying. Instead, a deep, angry desire for revenge was making her wake up.
On the afternoon of the third day, the truck stopped at a gas station. The back doors opened, and bright sunlight poured inside.
I blinked and saw a luxury SUV parked nearby. Raiden stepped out, looking rich and handsome in his expensive suit, with his arm around Zaria’s waist. They walked over to my cage and looked down at me like I was trash.
"Look at her, Raiden," Zaria laughed, her eyes full of mean joy. "Your Luna looks like a dirty stray dog.”
She picked up a glass of ice-cold water from a table. She brought it close to the bars, letting the cold drops fall right in front of my dry, bleeding lips. I didn't move. I refused to beg.
With a nasty smile, Zaria turned her hand and poured the water onto the dusty ground. "Oops. Trash deserves nothing."
She laughed coldly. "Enjoy the sun while it lasts, Elysia. We are at the Capital. By sunset, you will be dead."
She walked away, and the guards slammed the doors shut again.
An hour later, the truck stopped for the final time. The doors flew open, and two big guards grabbed my chains, dragging me out. My legs were too weak to stand, so they pulled me by my hair up the freezing marble steps of the royal palace.
The courtroom was massive and scary. The room was packed with the richest and most powerful Alphas and Lunas, all whispering and pointing at me. Raiden and Zaria sat near the front, pretending to look sad.
"Attention… the Traitor is here" a guard Annouced formerly. .
Suddenly, the room went dead silent. The air got so heavy it was hard to breathe.
Alpha King Alaric walked out and sat on his black throne. He looked terrifyingly powerful. His dark eyes looked down at me with pure disgust. To him, I was just a poor criminal who stole from his family.
Raiden stepped forward and bowed deeply. "Your Majesty, I brought the spy. Here is the proof of her crime." He held up the glowing black box—the Luna’s Tears.
Alaric looked at the box, then at me. His voice was deep and loud. "Luna Elysia, you are accused of stealing a royal treasure. The punishment is death. Do you have any final words before I sign your execution order?"
Everyone held their breath. Raiden and Zaria smiled, waiting for me to cry.
Instead, I used all my strength to push myself up. Chains rattling, I forced my aching body to stand. I looked the scary King straight in the eyes.
"My final words are for you, Your Majesty," I said, my voice shaky but loud enough for everyone to hear. "You sit there talking about justice, but you are completely blind. You are letting a coward use your laws to cover up a murder. Raiden forced me to drink a silver potion to kill his own unborn baby, and when I wouldn't break, he framed me with your box!"
People gasped all over the room. Raiden’s face went completely white. "She is lying! She is crazy!" he yelled.
King Alaric’s face did not change. He did not care about my words. "A dramatic story, omega, but we have proof. Your sentence is death."
Alaric picked up his gold pen to sign the paper. My heart stopped. I closed my eyes, waiting to die.
BOOM!
Before the pen could touch the paper, the heavy courtroom doors were kicked open.
A nanny, pale with fear and covered in blood, ran into the room screaming. "Your Majesty! Help! The Prince has collapsed!"
Alaric dropped his pen and stood up instantly, his powerful aura flaring in pure panic.
Behind the nanny, two guards carried a probably five-year-old boy. It was Jeremy , King Alaric’s only son and heir. The boy's eyes were rolled back, his small body was shaking, and a scary purple curse was spreading like veins across his skin.
"Get the doctors! Now!" Alaric roared, running down the steps.
Three royal doctors rushed over. They tried to give the boy healing potions, but his body rejected them, and blood started coming out of his nose.
"It's the Dark-Blood Curse, Your Majesty!" the main doctor cried, falling to his knees. "The medicine isn't working! He has less than ten minutes to live!"
Alaric grabbed the doctor by his collar, lifting him into the air. "Save him, or I will kill you all!"
The courtroom fell into total chaos. People were screaming and running away from the curse. The doctors were crying, completely helpless as the little prince stopped breathing.
But inside me, a strange feeling pulled at my soul. My inner wolf suddenly opened her eyes.
The boy, a voice whispered in my head. We can save him.
Through the crowd of screaming people, I stared at the dying prince. I knew that curse. I knew exactly how to fix it. And in that moment of pure madness, I realized the Moon Goddess hadn't sent me here to die.
She had sent me to save a King’s son.
