10 THE RECKONING AN HOUR LATER, having pulled the snowmobiles off of the trailer, Roger was looking forward to forgetting about recent events. There was nothing he could do about it, anyhow. He reasoned that if he kept them out of it, they wouldn’t be affected by it. What would anyone have against an innocent family on vacation together, anyhow? As they exited the property, Roger felt the adrenaline spread over his body. Feeling like a child again, the roar of the engine fired him up. He was glad to be able to spend that time with his kids.
