13 REUNION ROGER DIDN’T GET MUCH sleep that night. The feeling in his body had come racing back hours earlier. With his head pounding and aching limbs, he tried to sit in bed. However, he couldn’t manage to force himself upright. Peeking down at his wrapped leg, Roger called out to Kate from the master bedroom. “Kate? Honey,” he said. “Can you give me a boost?” Roger gripped a wooden cane and pushed himself up as she held her arms under his. “How are you feeling this morning?” She asked. “You were tossing and turning all night.” “Awful.
