AFTER MUCH THOUGHT and consideration, Roger decided the next morning that it might be smart to call on the police. But, he wasn’t going to waste his time with the local, small-town cops.
He guessed that since that big noise of a fight, they would come snooping around, eventually. Roger wasn’t a vigilante, just protecting those who couldn’t defend themselves. Besides, he’d rather be on the right side of the law, whether he trusted it or not. It does not exactly fit when an attorney doesn’t trust law enforcement.
Still, they had shown up to pick a fight. There was no time to get the law involved in such a remote corner of Montana. He would testify to that in any court of law. Though, he would do it all over again in a heartbeat if it meant saving lives.
