16 CLOSE CALL THE SUN WAS SLOWLY retreating below the rolling horizon, and dusk was giving way to heavy snowfall and blistering gusts. James had been hunkered down in that concrete bunker all evening, listening to police chatter on the radio scanner. All he could do was try to wait them out. With the Aryan’s and the police looking for him, he couldn’t take the gamble of wandering around aimlessly any longer. His goal was to flee to a non-extradition treaty country. It was the only way he could see coming out of this alive. However, with an ever-growing number of people wanting him dead, that would be easier said than done. They were close, far closer than James was comfortable with. He just prayed that they didn’t just happen to stumble upon the bunker entrance by accident. AS TROOPER
