SARAH'S POV The flashing red and blue siren lights covered the rain-soaked streets of Queens in bright colors. I stood under the rusty metal roof of a closed diner across the street, shivering badly. Rain ran down my face like cold tears, sticking my hair to my neck. Through my blurry eyes, I watched as two NYPD officers put heavy handcuffs on Marcus’s wrists and pushed him into the back of a police car. Even while being taken away, Marcus didn't look at the cops. His eyes searched the wet shadows of the street until they found me across the road.
