Ashes Of Time

Ep 1 : Remembering

On rainy afternoon I'm scrolling on my phone. I could hear the popping and crackling as mom dropped the bacon into the frying pan, and soon the salty, greasy smell wafted toward me.

I soon noticed that Mom already finished making a meal for me. The white plate landed on the checkered table cloth covering the table.

"Dear, you should eat now. Tomorrow's your birthday right? Cheer up!"

I took a look at the food Mom made me and started eating it. I tasted the familiar tang of my grandmother's dish she always cook for me when she's still living in this world.

My Mom looked at me with a smile drawn in her face. "You should get ready tomorrow, my beautiful princess. The season is fast, aren't it?" she sighed.

"Mom, what about the advice of grandma?"

"Don't get exhausted thinking about it. Just go with the flow with your life. Your grandma said that this life is well-planned, God created it for you to experience the things you needed to feel"

"I can change the faith, right?"

"You are like your grandmother.. Yes she believed that she could do that kind of things but it's too late for her to realize it." she sighed.

"Maybe I can do that, right?"

"I don't know dear, cause I don't believe in such things." she walked through the door and opened it. "I'll go now sweetie, stay at home okay?" she smiled at me and left.

I suddenly remember the ancestors from our family said that there are other universe outside the universe we're living. "What if its real?" I sighed.

FLASHBACK

it was when i was 11 years old, when my grandmother died. Her last words were orders for me.

"please don't be sad, change your path and move on."

"i-i don't understand?"

"please c-change the future and I promise both of us, w-will be happy" her last words echoed into my mind.

"I'll make sure I'll make you happy grandma." i promised while the tears in my eyes kept falling.

'Why does it have to end like this?!' i said to my mind. Atmosphere filled with cries, i still don't understand what my grandma mean.
