We all got problems
Parker
My parents and I talked. I told them everything. Uncle Nixon said it would help if I wanted to get sober. To say it stunned them didn’t even describe their reaction.
“I know you’re both disappointed in me,” I said
Ma cut interrupted me, “Parker, we’re not disappointed in you. We’re proud of you. It’s surprising, that’s all.”
“The last thing we want is for our kids to become hurt or hurt themselves. I’m sorry it got this far,” pops reasoned as I sat there.
“So am I,” I told them both. I didn’t tell my parents who I saw since we’re not to discuss who is in the meetings. I knew I would have to tell my brothers and Selena, but not right now. I needed to deal with it.
The next evening, I returned to the meeting. Uncle Nixon met me there for support.
