Brielle I was breathing heavily as I ran, my feet hammering into the hard, icy ground. The moonlight danced through the towering trees, illuminating my route with long, sinister shadows. Branches nibbled at my face and arms, and the air was heavy with the odour of wet leaves. That wasn't the worst of it, though. No, the worst was what I was running through- what I was trying to escape. Dead animals. Their eyes wide open, they stared up at me with lifeless eyes as they lay twisted and broken on the forest floor. Even though the scent of decay and blood was overwhelming, I couldn't stop.
