The wood stretched out endlessly around us as we made our way into it. Each tree was hovering above silently and it looked like that were watching my every move. My legs walked silently against the damp earth and my heart was racing with a mixture of fear and desperation. Zadyre, Damon and Amelia were behind me and we were all on the lookout for Micah.
After we had searched the house thoroughly and hadn’t found him, the woods was the next best place to look. The kids were still asleep and this was the best time to look for him. I was feeling anxious and with every step I took and every rustle of the leaves, I was getting more worried.
