"How many times do I have to tell you that I want to punch you in the face?" "So why don't you?" "Because I'm not a douchebag?" "Well, you're not a lot of things, Dan. Not creative, not too charming. Oh look! Not too clever, either." "Thanks for the boost of confidence, butthole." "We've all got one." "That may be true, Adam, but you don't need to show it off." As the two continued their banter as they played, Daniel's twin sister, Samantha, sauntered into the kitchen like a kitten on catnip. "Are you two seriously going to just sit there all day playing video games?" She asked, one hand on her hip and the other draped limply over the edge of the counter like a teenage cashier thinking she could do so much better than working like some lowly peasant living off of minimum wage. "Yep." "You got it." Samantha scoffed and turned on her heel, making her way deeper into the kitchen. "What do you want?" She snapped. "A higher paycheck." Daniel shot back at his sister, not taking his eyes off of the screen. Glaring at the two man-children in the living room like a parent catching their children getting into sweets before supper, Samantha scoffed once more, brushing the dark brown bangs out of her eyes. "I meant to eat." "Food, preferably." Adam replied for them both, shooting an award-winning grin over to Samantha. She shot him a look like unto a feline eyeing a common stranger, and he winked back at her, sealing the deal like a house being sold. "Whatever." Samantha scoffed at no one in particular, turning on her heel and making her way into the kitchen, where Daniel thought she belonged. "What game are you two playing anyways?" "Well, We were going to play Borderlands, but SOMEBODY forgot his laptop." Daniel jabbed at his friend. "Hey, I was in a rush. Besides, I'm the one driving up to the cabin later. I needed to make sure I had gas." "Right. Its okay, Mughead is fine too. You know, IF I COULD PARRY." Daniel let out a small string of food-approved curses as his character was hit by another flying dog head. "Fudging roller coaster. I hate clowns." "Then maybe don't act like one." Adam jested. “Hey, have either of you heard from Ethan lately?” Samantha asked aloud, busing herself with cleaning up the small apartment she shared with her brother. Pausing the game, Daniel stretched as Adam took out his phone, adjusting his glasses as he did so. “Not me.” He said. “I texted him earlier and he finally agreed to come up to the cabin with us.” Adam chimed in nonchalantly. “It’s about time he did, too.” "It would be nice to have the gang together again, just like old times." Daniel said. "Everyone seems so down lately." He then got up from the couch and made his way over to raid the pantry. "Of course, by everyone, I'm solely talking about Ethan." "Hey, leave the boy alone." Samantha pushed her bother into the pantry door playfully before taking out her phone as her brother grabbed some chips and made his way back to the couch. "Why should I? I'm not the lovesick puppy dog who-" "Bro, knock it off. Just because you're getting some doesn't mean you have to rub it in everyone's face." Adam glanced over at Samantha as she stared down at her phone. "Besides," he continued, "he 's been doing a lot better since she first left." "Whatever, man." Daniel brushed him off before continuing to stuff his face with his Flaming hot Cheetos. Suddenly, Samantha looked up from her phone. “Hey...Did you guys know that Aria’s coming back to Arenbrooke?” The two boys instantly turned their attention to Samantha.
