A wolf walked up to me and looked at me in the eyes, she stayed like that for a moment then licked my hand and walked off.

I meet a lot of wolves and their guardians we were about to have a party when a very beautiful woman walked up to me and maliky.

"hello you two, maliky can I speak with her." she asked she wasnt very tall but her brown hair looked like tranto's fur she even had his markings on her for head a circle with a dot in the middle and instead of flame it looked like thorns going around her head.

Sure taline, just dont tell her anything about me I would like to if you dont mind.

"of course, I would not be responsible for her running away." she said with a smile and her brown eyes looked like chocolate. " come along now I myself have some explaining to do for you."

I followed her out side and it was past noon and from what I heard from maliky there will be a party tonight and it will go all night long.

"so melenie what did maliky tell you about the meeting ceremony?" she asked I had almost forgot I was following her.

"Nothing the only thing he had ever tell me was that it was a great honor."

" well this is the next step and since you and maliky are a team we need for every one to know this" she was talking kinda quiet I could bearly hear her." we must go see the most oldest elder she is to old to move any where so we must go to her, now dont be afraid she is friendly unlike tranto. I am so very sorry he was so rude, he could have just let you bow but he wanted to test his sons trust and your trust in him, it was only yesterday that he told us that you had no idea who he was, I can almost imagine how scary that meeting was."

" I was scared but I was terrified when I couldnt hear maliky any more right be for tranto told me to get up at that point I was just scared that I wasnt a guardian." I said in a small voice.

" I imagine every new alpha is, but you have nothing to fear not here, your next task will be scary but its harmless it is just something so every one here knows who you are." she was talking like she was the one afraid like I would run away at any time.

" what is it excatly?" I asked almost eger.

" it is a marking ceremony I will explain more when you get out here is where I stop just go strait ahead she already knows your coming" and then I was pushed along to meet the eldest elder.

I walked in to what looked like a kings war tent but as a hut, there was a very old man sitting infront an old looking wolf. The wolf had beautiful blonde fur it looked like golden sunlight. The old man had blue eyes and white hair white as snow.

"welcome my dear, do not be afraid we are to old and to frail to even attempt on hurting you."

"What is this place, what am I supposed to do?" I asked eager to get out of that place as quickly as possible.

"all you have to do deary is say an incantation and that is it." he said bluntly.

"Okay what is the incantation?"

" Repeat after me...I the alpha guardian to the alpha to the pack, swear to all the guardians that were and will be to protect the forest and the pack with my life."

I repeated the incantation and then the wolf got up and touched her snout to my for head, then the old man put three fingers on my for head as well. Then I felt burning on my for head it felt like I was holding my face in almost boiling water or hot water from a hot springs. I didnt even hear the elders talking to me until the old man gave me a cold drink, I drank it greedily and before I knew it, it was gone.

Are you alright my dear? Asked a sweet voice it sounded like honey it was beautiful.

"I can hear you, but how?" my voice didnt sound like mine it did.

"it is the result of the ceremony if you can hear her then it means that you have been accepted by the elders that have passed into the nether world." he was smiling he handed me a mirror I looked into it and on my forehead in the same place where maliky's markings were, were in the exact same markings but on my forehead." this is your mark now every one in the pack will know who you are and only guardians can see it, no humans."

" incredible." was all I could manage. He led me to the door bowed down to me and gave me a hug of ferwell, I left the hut to join up with taline.

"well what did you think of your new markings awsome huh?" she had a huge smile on her face I could still feel the burn on my forehead where my new markings were." you will get used to them trust me now shall we go and celebrate?"

"sure, sounds like fun. As long as im done with all these ceremony things." I nervously laughed worring that I still had traditions to go through but she saved my mile and hour heart by nodding her head " thank goodness."

"well makily will be glad to see that you have been blessed."

" I hope so cause these kinda hurt." we both laughed as we walked back to the cave to join the party.

about an hour later maliky came to find me

and with that wolvish grin we both went to meet the rest of the pack like the future leaders we were. as we walked our way through the packs village we found our selves by the lengand keeper with many guardians listning to the latest tale. before i knew it i was captured by the story he told. as the keeper spoke it was like a spell was telling me to listen and i was entraped by his words.

"Long ago has our guardians protected this forest and on many occasions the enitre world. the tale of nicandro was an ancient dragon determined to destroy the guardians and their loyalty to man and to the forest. Nicandro the bringer of darkness and death many years ago almost acomplished that task that would push the entire world in to darkness and ruin. many guardians lost thier lives before the evil nicandro was traped in his snake form by the lovley mage cosmet. she was very powerful indeed she gave her last life ending spell to keep him trapped and the only way for him to be set free as the old tale goes is for one of her decents of her blood and was even more powerful that she can he once again be released and may once agian rain terror and destuction upon us and only our future can save us all."

As he finished his tale i had goose bumps all down my arms and i was shaking uncontroably.

with the story still fresh in my mind i went in search of food. when i found some food ryan was also attached to it.

" i like the new look melenie, although you might want to die your hair red to match the flames, but you would look way to much like seline yeah dont do that," he had a self knowing smile that i wanted to punch off, " they have pretty decant meat here, tastes good to want some shorty?" he askes he was two heads taller than i was and he was taking advantage.

" i can find some on my own but thanks." i say and walk off.

" hey wait up," he follows right behind me. " we have not had a chance to talk yet, have we?"

" no, but you never talk unless it is you the one talking..." i gave him my best spectical look.

" good point, so i guess i should just tell you my life story and bore you to death." he was still smiling that smile and he even winked at me. " so tell me what do you want to know?"

i look his way just hoping he didnt have a joke in this story, " what ever you want to tell me, ryan."

his smile scared me slightly to the point where i was not sure if i wanted to hear about it. "

“You know what I think I will tell you later” he gives me a wink and walks off as if he never even saw me. All I could think is what just happened?

It has been about two months scence I left home and I have gone to three cities looking to any information on guardians and I still didnt find anything other than foke lore which was not accurate at least from what I have seen.

I asked one of the libraians if I could barrow a book I was reading to go get something to eat for lunch. She let me take it I couldnt see why she wouldnt. I walked out to the edge of the town and sat down against a tree and ate my apple that I got at the market.

" I hear you have been interessted in guardiansss..." it sounded like someone was behind me but when I turned no one was there.

" who is there?" I asked to the air hoping I wasnt going crazy.

"ssome one who undersstandsss what you have gone through." it sounded like this man was missing some teeth and that was why his speech sounded so strange.

" oh yeah and how would you understand? I was supposed to be a guardian not her." who was this man or what ever it was and how did it know about me I was to angry to ask I was through getting laughed at by every one about guardians.

"I can help you become a guardian iss that what you want?" it asked I was just getting more and more angry.

"very well than I sshal sshow mysself to you boy." just then a snake black as night as big as my fist some how appears in my hand."I sshal be your guardian boy and you will become mine, follow me in to the wood."

Blinded by rage I silently followed the serpent when finaly we made it to a clearing about a mile where we had left, " where are we?"

"thiss iss the place where we sshal bond and become one with each other." the snake started to grow into a huge snake its head was as big as a bolder at the bottom of a ravine its body was as big as the biggest tree trunk in the forest." look into my eyess boy and we sshal bond you will ssoon be able to hear my thoughtss and I will hear yourss."

as scared as i was i didnt care i wanted to be a guardian and i would do anything to make that happen so I looked into the serpents eyes and that was the last thing I remember of my life as a human.
