"m-melene!" aron called from across the clearing still standing next to latral. " its serious. come quick!" i quickly ran to his side. latral breathing was shallow.

"wh- where is cas?" i could tell his was trying to get more out but he was into much pain.

MALIKY HOW IS HE?

"melene, i cant heal this its too big i dont have enough power." he looked like he wanted to cry. "he isnt going to make it..."

"its okay aron just try to make it less painfull can we move him? he should be next to cas."

" its going to hurt like hell but yes he can be moved." aron looked like he was going to be sick from the magic he put into to try to heal latrals wound.

" selene, get over here he needs to be moved" i could hardly look at her from the anger that was pulsing in my vains not that i could blame her if it wasnt max i wouldnt have stopped her. she comes over to the other side of latral and grabs ahold of his sholder and thigh as i do the same. as we slowly make our way over to cas i can feel the energy draining out of me my mind thinks it is because of the adrenaline draining out of me but my heart says something else. i look down at latral and he is not as pale as he was before i glance at aron who still has ahold of his head and he looks better as well. i am lost in my own thoughts as we reach cas, we set latral next to his wolf with me between them. i grab latrals hand and place it on cas thinking if i was dying i would have wanted the same for me i wouldnt have wanted to die unless i had a hand on maliky. as i hold latrals had onto cas i feel even worse then i did when we carried latral over to cas.

there is a pain in my head as i start to wake up. i open my eyes a little bit and the sun burns so bad all i can do is shut my eyes and turn away from it, as i turn i feel warm fuzzyness on my face. i can feel myself smiling i must have fallen asleep with maliky and i am the first to wake.

MELENIE ARE YOU AWAKE, ARE YOU OKAY, YOU SPEAK?

"okay maliky to many questions." i say from his tone he is worried i dont know why i was just taking a nap.

"melenie, its aron are you okay?" his voice sounds worried to. what did i fall asleep on watch? oops...

"yes im okay killer headache though whoever cooked dinner is so not aloud to anymore they pack to much of a pounch" i start giggling at my own joke and i hear maliky growl," okay sorry i thought it was funny..."

"melenie what do you remember from yesterday?" aron asked as i try to sit up the sun not as bright as before i open my eyes and they all have worried exprestions on their faces even selene.

" okay whats is going on..." as i start to say as the momories start flooding back max! big snake! latral and cas! "oh god where is cas and latral what happend?" i start flying questions at them and selene starts to smile.

"oh come on guys she is fine did a damn good job on those to though didnt know you had it in ya though, here i thought your were just some no good alpha" she starts laughing and deamon sits up and does that wolfy grin he has. maliky starts to growl but then stops to look at me as to seem to see if i have and more injeries.

"guys im fine where are cas and latral are they dead?" i ask getting more worried by the second.

" i can assure you young lady i am not dead." i turn my head as fast as i can with they pain that is slowly going away, "but that is all thanks to you my dear." latral comes over with cas carring two deer on his back.

"what." is all i could really manage at the moment, they were both alive and better then alive up and moving, " how long was i out?"

ALMOST TWO DAYS...

" two days are you serious?... where is ryan and riya?" i ask way too many things going on in my head to think strait so i just ask them to tell me everything.

" i guess i will go first," selene start telling her story from when we seperated at the town." well me and ryan went to start talking to the villagers to see if they have seen anything suspicious or anyone new and when they said that there was a man that came through a while ago and since then the animals have been coming out of the forest and into the town, one man said that even bears and mountain lions were coming out of the woods and into their barns and houses, after that we started getting a weird feeling and we started making our way to the market because that is where we knew you two would be. then all of the sudden ryan stops looks at me and says riya needs him and took of i tried to yell at him and say we sould meet up first and then fo find riya but he ignored me and the next thing i know i cam hear demon yelling at me to come quick and after that is when we met up with you guys." she said that her and demon tried to go and follow their trail but with trackers they know how to hide their scent and foot prints.

" well my dear i guess it is my turn, i never leave cas's side so when you all split up he and i went looking around that is when i found a scent and not an ordinary scent it was the scent of a demon, and not just any demon the vile creature that made the guardians have a place in this world for somthing to protect this scent is passed down through the generations of defferent trackers ryan and riya were my successers, but this scent was the scent was of the beast that you know by the name of the "claw"..." all the wolves started growling a low growl.

" wait the demon dragon from the stories?" aron asked.

" it is no story boy it is the truth you have just fought your first battle with it..." he looked mighty pleased as he looked at the six of us. " and you all servied... but let me continue. i followed the scent stupid i know but i had to know for sure, when we got to the clearing we saw it "claw" huge but yet different that mage did a number on him that was for sure he was no longer a dragon but a snake and i dont think he can change to his ture form... yet, but when we saw him cas imediatly howled to signal you to the clearing that is when he turned on us and he swiped at us with his tail i was thrown from cas and when i got to my feet cas wasnt moving, that is when you kids got to there." he looked troubled as he continued. " i know i was hurt and i knew i was probably going to die so when aron got to me i told him to leave me imediatly and go tell the alpha what was going on, then i heard this god awful noise and then i saw you and i asked where cas was and then i was unconscious, then i remember being numb then burning like someone had started a fire inside of me and then the pain start to disipaite then i could feel cas he was so weak then the fire inside got stronger and i was unconscious again." he looked at me with great gratuide," the next thing i know im waking up and maliky is next to you with a fire and it looked like you went to hell and back you had a fever and didnt look well, and here we are i belive all thanks to you melenie."

" yeah thanks i dont know what you did but when you picked latral up it was like i didnt have to work my magic as hard to keep him alive and when you started to put his hand on cas you just looked like you were glowing i guess but no one else saw it so i guess i was seeing things." aron looked at me as if i was glowing now.

" does any one know where they went max, or ryan and riya?" i asked afraid that the answer was not going to be what i wanted it to.

"no we have a few ideas to where the snakeboy went but nothing on ryan and riya." selene said

"that snakeboy is my brother selene, and his name is max!" i said remembering she was going to kill him.

" hey dont look at me he was the one who got dragged into this by the demon dragon, i think it might run in the family, the magic and stupidness i mean." she had a smirk on her face.

" come on guys we have to figure out our next move" aron said with a scared look in his eye.

" i agree we need to go tell tranto what we have seen, after lunch melenie should have enough energy to start the jorney back home."

I AGREE WITH LATRAL BUT YOU ALSO NEED MORE REST.

" lets eat then go home." i said with venom in my words lunch went on very quiet as did the pack up and pretty much the whole trip home i didnt talk to anyone even maliky for the whole trip, something was wrong and my connetion to the forest was telling me it was only going to get a whole lot worse from here on out.
