When I come out of the employees building after my shift, the first thing I see is Danny leaning on a fence opposite the pathway. He lights up in a smile when he sees me. “Well hi there baby”.
“Hi Danny”. I hurry over to him, throwing my arms around his neck. “I missed you”.
“I missed you too”. He kisses me slowly and softly and I am sure it’s not butterflies in my stomach, but eagles or something.
When we break the kiss he just stands there, looking into my eyes, his hand gently caressing my cheek. “I still can’t believe that ... I am yours ... for real”.
“Danny ! And no ... you are not mine, we are ... us, together”. I thought I wanted an older man, but Danny’s soul is old ... and beautiful.
