BAEKHYUN POV

Wise and virtuous.

That's the meaning of my name.

Byun Baekhyun.

Opposite to my name, I still couldn't determine whether I made a wise choice of joining them.

I was 20 years old when I was killed by King Brooke.

He plunged the knife deep on my chest and it hurts like hell.

I still got the scar on my chest as a reminder of my blood oath.

I stop aging and that applies to my face and my height.

It’s a shame that I can no longer grew taller.

It was as if I am stunted.

But the fun part is that we kept having fun in this demon realm.

There is no day and night and we're all up partying 24/7.

The drinks and foods served were all alcoholic, you’ll find yourself drunk and wasted in a matter of seconds.

The women were all hotties.

“Made from hell.” They said.

I was very close to another 11 demons, they were like my friends and brothers.

We were all mortals before we decided to join this family.

They were Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Suho, Lay, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O, Tao, Kai and Sehun.

We lived together in a house at the demon realm.

The sky was painted with dark red.

There was no sun, no clouds and no moon.

Our house was near a river made by boiling lava,

surrounded by wilted trees and plants,

and filled with shrill screams and wailing from the Underneath.

The tortured souls were kept at the core of the realm which will always burning and ignites.

This poisonous, eternal flame never shows mercy to any soul.

“Hey, Baekhyun.” Chanyeol greeted with a smile.

We didn't getting along at first but as time passed, we grew closer and became brothers.

We were all victims of bullying so we all do understand each other.

King Brooke killed us and promised that once we join them, he’ll granted our wishes that promises sweet t*****e and deaths.

For now, we are gifted with unique superpowers. King Brooke was generous by giving us different kind of superpower. Our most basic superpowers were teleportation, healing, mind reading and invisibility.

Although Kai main superpower was teleportation and Lay was healing, it was different from ours.

Kai was an expert in teleporting. He can teleport to all seven realms by himself meanwhile Lay can heal every kind of pain and injury using the tip of his fingers which were something that we can’t do.

My superpower was light yet not everyone know that my touch could destroy everything within my order.

Today, we were resting in our house since we didn't have anything to do today.

Both Suho and Kris were busy discussing something really serious at the dining room. They were always like that.

I can smell the atmosphere.

Serious and tense,

as usual.

I can't deny that I changed too.

After being a demon, I was having hard time to express my feelings and thoughts. I felt everything was controlled and I’m just one of thousands puppets that King Brooke had.

It was funny of how I used to be a cheerful and talkative guy.

I like the days and I love the nights.

I learnt to love and to be loved.

But love isn’t enough.

It was the source of my destruction.

Tanya wasn’t wrong.

Love made us do the impossible things and so does that brat—Minho.

I’ll make sure he pay for this,

For Tanya tears, for my sleepless night and for my haunting me physically and mentally.

“Breakfast!” D.O shouted from the kitchen. All of us dashed to the dining room instantly like hungry stray cats who haven’t eaten for ages.

“I make pancakes!” He smiled. “With love.” He added.

“Thank you, D.O!”

We all started eating except Lay who observed the pancakes carefully.

D.O turned to Lay with a smile. He always smile like a creep. Always.

“What’s wrong Lay?”

“Diphacinone. You added Diphacinone in the pancake.” He said.

“Dip what? No wonder the pancakes tastes awesome. You create new dip sauce recipe!” Chanyeol clapped his hands.

Everyone stop from eating except Chanyeol. My fork fell from my grip and I gagged instantly.

“You freaking added Diphacinone in the pancake?!”

“April fools!” D.O chirped.

And we all gagged at the same time.

My stomach burns as the side effect.

“Why is this April fools?” Chanyeol asked in confusion.

“That s**t that you are eating contain rodenticides!” Sehun screamed.

“Hey, food is not s**t! Mind your words!” D.O growled.

“So what is rodenticides?” Chanyeol whispered next to me.

“Nevermind, Chanyeol. Keep on eating…”

“Why are you so grumpy today, Baekhyun? Smile!” Chanyeol put his fingers on my lips and make my lips curled into a forced smile. He hated seeing me being grumpy after the April fools prank.

I swear I’ll pull bigger prank next time.

“Stop it.” I hit his hand and he winced in pain. “Never mess around with Baekhyun, Chanyeol...” Chen giggled.

“Tch… I'm just trying to make him smile.” Chanyeol pouted and I slightly smile with his boldness.

“Ehh, he's smiling!” Chanyeol exclaimed and I put on the poker face back.

“Let's just eat first.” Kris said and all of us obeyed. We do respect Suho and Kris so much.

“For you.” Kris put some pancakes on my plate.

The new batch of pancakes was free from toxic substances.

Lay made sure of it.

“Thanks hyung.” I smiled. Kris looks cold hearted but he’s actually a gentlemen and kind person.

“I want too!” Sehun pouted and crossed his arms.

“Me three!” Tao shouted.

“Me four!” Kai shouted.

“Let's just start from the eldest.” Kris sighed and put some pancakes on Tao's plate followed by Kai and Sehun.

“Kris, me?” Luhan asked.

“You have hands Luhan.” Kris said, emphasizing the word ‘hands’ while pointing at it.

"Pfffwahahahah!" Chen and Chanyeol laughed and roll like a buffalo.

“Stop trolling, the both of you!” Luhan smacked Chen and Chanyeol heads which made them silent instantly.

I’m 100% sure that they saw stars right now.

“Here Luhan hyung.” Suho put some pancakes on Luhan's plate.

The others were still laughing because of Kris rejection towards Luhan.

How I wish that everything will be like this forever. I wished that we can laugh, smile and troll together forever as 12 members.

Suho got a sudden phone call and he answered it.

After nodding twice, he hung the phone.

“What is it, hyung?” I asked. “We need to go to the Palais du Bellinor by now.” Suho said and we all were on our feet.

The foods were long forgotten.

“Alright, let’s go!” Kai lead.

We held each other hands to teleport since the palace is far from our house.

Once we reached at the main gate, Ruby guards were looking at us furiously.

I can't deny that they always chicken me out with their appearance and their cold welcome.

They let us get into the palace after eyeing us from head to toe. We walked until we reached the main hall.

The chandelier hung up at the ceiling.

It is dark red in colour. It is rumoured to be made from mortals’ bloods.

“Hello, young men.” A voice said and we turned our head towards the voice. It's the King. The King of Demons.

“Hello, Your Highness.” All of us bowed.

“Please be seated.” He gestured us to sit on the spiky, golden couch. We sat properly and waited for him to continue.

“Do you remember when we first met? I made a deal with the 12 of you before I killed you and turned you into demons.” King Brooke spoke out. “I have been watching you and you did your job in pleasing royal demons very well. I'm pleased and I want to reward you.”

My eyes twinkled.

This is it.

“I’ll let you get your revenge to your little friends…” We shared the same smirk to each other. “But under one condition.”

“You will stay in Earth until the ritual night.” He told.

“What should we do in the meantime?” Luhan asked.

“Just lives among the mortals just don’t get attached to them. You know you need to kill them at the ritual night so we don’t need unnecessary bonds.” King Brooke said.

“When will the ritual night take place?” Lay asked.

“16 years from now. Make sure you’re ready to hunt and kill. Choose souls to be yours for the ritual night.”

“Sure.” All of us replied.

“Remember that if you get stabbed on your heart with a platinum knife, you'll die and no longer live as the demon. And I need to remind that if one of you are dead, all of you will die too. That is the principle. Because you're one. You can't less than one.” The King said and we nodded.

“Remember that our deal and promise can't be break and undo unless if one of you are dead. If you refuse, I'll find another alternative that will make all of you regret the moment you disobey.” King Brooke threatened.

It must be The Core.

He is going to send us there if we disobey.
