He opened the car’s door for me and I shot him a distasteful look, clearly not pleased with the way things were progressing so out of my control. I needed to find a way to slip away and get there before the lot of them and I couldn’t do that if I went with him. No! We had to split up so that I can just run there. That would be much faster and more efficient.
He raised an eyebrow at me, seeing the hesitation on my face, loud and clear.
“You go on ahead. I will join you later.”, I said rather whimsically and I could hear a rather loud and frustrated sigh from Luke, who literally manhandled me into the car, losing his patience and got in himself and said firmly as if saying this is the end of the discussion, “We are going the same way. There is absolutely no need to go separate ways.”
