CHAPTER 7 "The phone call"

Ilang araw absent si Anasco I need to contact him paano namin mapapasa yung title name sa research project. Pero mukang hindi naman naaalala ni Sir Dan. Kaya lang ang problem ko kasama ko sya mag report bukas. Nagtanong tanong na ako kung sinong kaibigan nito kaya lang mukang wala naman. Ako na nga lang magrereport bukas, ang hirap talaga kapag alphabetical ang pilian laging itong lalaki na to makakasama, dagdag stress.

"Oh Serra! Still here ha?" Napadaan para umupo sa available seat sa gilid si Chin.

"You need to settle your tuition na, or else no more Del Valle Academy anymore" Sthella said na nang aasar din kasunod nito.

Nasa room kami. Badtrip talaga tong mga to pasalamat sila dumating na yung teacher kung hindi makakatikim talaga tong mga to.

After my subject pumunta ako ng office to talk to our principal. Nakausap ko na si ate at kuya na tulungan ako na makabayad for this quarter. Hindi pumayag ang kuya ko pero pinipilit ko pa. I knocked on the door. Free time daw ngayon ni Mrs. Mopper kaya nag lakas na ako ng loob puntahan sya but I really don't know what to say. She smiled at me at pinapasok ako sa office nya.

"Serra Ahtisa Alvarez! Right? Come in. What's bringing you here?" Pinaupo nya ako sa harapan ng desk nya.

"Hello Mrs. Mopper good day po, I would like to ask if there's any option po to get a scholarship grant." I directly said to her.

"Did you fail the exam? And if that's the case sa ngayon, I can tell na walang ibang way but to pay your balance.

Jonathan already transferred to another school, and Serra to be honest I want you to stay here. Ms. Amada said you're late that day"

I shook my head. "On the 32nd spot, 93% only Ma'am"

Impressing anyway." Nagulat na tugon nito. "I'm with Joan." She said to Ms. Mopper.

"Where is she?"

Mrs.Mopper na parang excited.

"I'm here I'm just talking to Uno on the phone,.. hold on Uno wait a minute...

Hi! Madame Dumaan lang ako for Amada, flight na namin tomorrow kaso na stress ako kay Uno di ko alam ang gagawin ko sa batang to.

Hello! Uno! Your Principal wants to talk to you. Get it!"

Instead of Mrs. Mopper the phone is now held by Ms. Amada and she's now talking to Kaizer.

"Kaizer! I will send Andi and Ali later in your house... take care of them ayaw mo naman din pumasok di ba? You're always like this! Hindi ka pa ba sawa sa pagbubulakbol! This is too much! Oh! Someone's here to talk to you!"

Ms. Amada passed the phone to me. Actually I don't know what to do, should I give it to our Principal? Eh! I also need to talk to him.

But.. they were surprised when I talked to Kaizer on the phone.

"Hello? Kaizer! This is Serra. We need to meet later after class I need to discuss our report tomorrow.

I'm here because... I don't know how to contact you! Yah... I'm headed here cause I need to report an irresponsible classmate. Whatsoever! I don't care!

Then he turned off the phone. Nagulat si Kaizer ng ako ang nagsalita sa phone. Galit pa sya nang sabihin kong ipapaalis ko sya kay Steven sa basketball pinatayan ako ng phone.

"Binaba?" Amada asked.

I nodded while giving the phone back.

"He's pissed that's why" her mother said.

Nagulat din sila ng sagutin ko ang cellphone. Nakakahiya.

"I'll go ahead na po, thank you Mrs Mopper, Ms. Amada and Ma'am... sorry about Kaizer"

they nod and I smiled at them.

Lumabas na ako. That is One of the most embarrassing moments in my life. Nakakahiya! Pero I don't have a choice, I felt dismayed nung sinabi ni Mrs. Mopper na walang ibang way kundi bayaran ko ang balance ko.

"Wait. Serra I want to talk to you about Kaizer. Let's have a deal alam ko you need a scholarship to stay here I can pay your tuition, help me na makagraduate si Uno."

Napakunot naman ang noo ko sa sunod sunod at confrontational na salita nya. Is she reffering to me? Gusto nyang ako ang mag pumilit at ma stress sa anak nya?No way!

"I will think about it po... thank you for the offer. Nakiusap na din po ako sa siblings ko about this. If they don't lend a help I'll count on you Ma'am."

"Help Uno at least, please..." maamong muka nyang pakikiusap.

"I can help him lang po if kasama ko sya sa group activities Ma'am. Kaizer is hard headed hindi pa po kami nakakapag usap ng maayos dahil sa attitude nya. He's making me stress din po lalo na sa research project namin. Mopper said.

"She declined it. Inaantay nya pa daw ang sagot ng siblings nya to pay her remaining balance.

"Well that's true! I'm so impressed about her alam mo ba late yang batang yan nung examination kaya tinaray tarayan ko ng bongga. Akalain mo hindi aware na nagbigay ng letter sa locker niya." Amada said.

"She's the top 2 ranked student last year, masipag yan kaya hindi agad yan papayag na hindi sya makapasok sa ISKO and I like her personality kaya lang madalas may bad record sa guidance."

Mopper said.

"She has an attitude and straightforward and she knows what she wants. She can do everything para maka graduate dito. I hope Uno will also graduate here, kapag hindi pa din niya inayos ang pag aaral nya, hindi sya pamamanahan ng lolo nya. "

Joan added.

"Well let's see if Kaizer will follow her. Nakakuha ng kapatapat yang anak mo.

Nakatingin naman ang panganay na kapatid sa kanilang dalawa habang papaalis na.

"I'll conduct a meeting for admins. I'll announce my decision about the scholarship grant. Tutulungan kita Joana we're always here to support you."

"Thank you! You two are my best support systems" Joana said.
