Episode Two

Diana's POV

I need to beg Lucas that I'm ready to accept his only offer for me. I decided to visit his office, where I believed Amelia wouldn't be, but to my surprise, I met her on Lucas's lap, kissing her affectionately. I felt bad, and I just wanted to throw Amelia away from Lucas, but with everything and the pain I have gone through in the last three weeks and two days, it made me realize Lucas is a lost battle.

He rejected me coldly and chose Amelia, but I loved him. I can't take his love away from my heart even after hurting me.

“Lucas, I want you right here, “ Amelia whispered into Lucas' ear but it was loud enough for me to hear.

I smirked because they both saw me when I entered but decided to ignore my presence. “I would love to eat you whole right here, love, “ Lucas said, hitting Amelia's ear lobe seductively.

I couldn't utter a word; the words I tried to say were difficult for me to utter, and tears dropped down my cheeks as I fell to my knees. I mustered my courage, “Lucas, please, I have come to apologize for hurting you and your mate, Amelia, and I also would like to accept the position of being Amelia's maid, “I said, struggling with the tears.

Amelia and Lucas burst into laughter, “I know you will be back soon, you are too weak to face the real world, but as my Luna's family, I will accept you as a maid but not as Amelia's maid anymore, “ Lucas said.

I was happy that I wouldn't be working as Amelia's maid, I would rather work in the mansion than be Amelia's maid, but my happiness faded immediately after Amelia stood from Lucas's lap, she walked towards me, held up my chin, “You have nowhere to his sister, everywhere you worked, I threatened them and made sure they didn't pay you, I want you for myself, “ Amelia mocked.

I was shocked; I was not expecting Amelia to hate me this much; I was lost in my thoughts when she brought me back to reality with a slap, “Ouch!

I felt bad. I just didn't want to work for Amelia, but I couldn't avoid it because Lucas would definitely agree with Amelia's choice.

Lucas agreed and ordered the guard to take me to the room they had already prepared for me. It was shocking to me because I was not expecting they already had it all planned. I held onto my bags to my chest as I walked gently behind the guard.

It was a few minute's drive from Lucas's mansion to his office. We arrived, and I was led to a room opposite Lucas's room. I knew this was intentional to hurt her more, she needed to be focused and never get on Amelia's bad side.

Working as Amelia's maid was more difficult than I had imagined. I worked twenty hours a day. Sometimes she gave me chores that would make me busy throughout the night. I couldn't complain or reject the chores.

The chores grew more as their engagement ceremony approached, yes, they had planned an engagement ceremony and it's happening in three days, and in the last ten days, my work has been more hectic, I worked with a few maids to clean the apartment for the Invited guests, like the Alpha and their Luna.

Amelia wanted an elaborate engagement, and Lucas is definitely giving it to her. I have been questioning why the Moon goddess even chose me as Lucas' mate, because the way he loved and cared for Amelia is deeper, and for Amelia, I can't say if she truly loves Lucas genuinely.

Working outside the mansion was a relief for me, not seeing Amelia and not witnessing her several nights of lovemaking with Lucas. Since I started working, it seems they had nothing more important to do inside their room than make love, Amelia moaning loudly every night and her punishment of making sure I bring juice for her and Lucas after their night of fun.

“Diana, you are not looking good, “ One of the maids said.

One thing that made working for Amelia easy for me was the fact she was hated by all her maids, even though I never supported them whenever they were gossiping about her but I find it soothing for me. At least I was not the only one she treated badly, but literally all her maids.

“Yes, I have a fever, but I would probably ask Amelia for a free day after the ceremony, “ I replied.

Have been feeling feverish in the past two days. Sleepless nights and working endlessly had made me weaker than I used to be, but I can't dare to stop working now that the ceremony is in a few days. I had to hold on till after the ceremony.

“Amelia, rest for some minutes and let us do the work; after all, this is the last apartment, “Jane said.

Jane is one of Amelia's maids and she has been a good friend to me even when I hardly show it because of the fear of being betrayed again. I have decided to not trust anyone, never again.

I shut my eyes like they all had ordered and slept off, but I was woken up by a push. I was pushed off from the bed and I landed on the bare ground. It hurts, “Ouch, why, “ I questioned while I lifted up my face to see who pushed me off the bed.

“How dare you nap while the other maids are working, do you still think you are Luna, “Amelia yelled.

I looked at the other maid's faces, who were shocked just like me. I must have forgotten that today is the last day of working at the apartment and she would definitely come by to check what we have been doing so far.

“I'm sorry, Amelia, I didn't mean to sleep off, but I had…., I didn't finish my statement before she put a slap across my face.

Tears welled up; I swallowed hard and sniffed to stop the tears from dropping; I wouldn't want her to see me in tears again; I wouldn't give her a chance to feel like she could make me sad anytime she felt like it.

“How dare you call me by my name, Ex Luna Diana, “ She mocked.

“You think you are still the Luna here, I will be crowned officially in three days, and I want you to address me as your Luna from now on, sister, “ She added coldly.

I looked at her angrily; I fumed with anger and felt like bouncing on Amelia right here; this was the height of it; if I couldn't fight her, I needed to do what she hated most.

“For a title you stole from me, “I muttered even though I was loud enough for everyone to hear.
