On The Other Side

Chapter 011: Hospital

                "South Korea?!" Luna exclaimed, her eyes wide. Eli laughed nervously. "Yeah, I kind of have a few things to take care of in South Korea." "Are you gonna tell me what you have to do?" she asked. "I can't. All I can say is that I need to go there." he told her. It was not his place to tell Luna why he needed to go there. "Alright. I'll book us a flight." she told him. "Thanks, Luna." Eli knew how lucky he was to ave a sister who trusted him like she did. One who trusted him without him even having to explain everything. A few minutes later, after Eli had left her room, Luna came to the living room. "The flight is at 3:30." she said. He looked at the clock. 11:30. That meant that he had three hours to pack and get everything he would need before they left for the airport. "Alright." he told her before heading to his bedroom to begin packing. 

                The three hours had passed far too quickly for Eli, who had spent them trying to think of any and everything he might need. He had a theory. Perhaps, he could bring things to The Other Side. It was just a theory that didn't even have solid evidence backing it up, but it was a theory nonetheless. Bringing a large suitcase would be more of a disability than an advantage, as it would slow him down, so he decided on simply taking a small bag, inside of which was a seven inch dagger, a first-aid kid, a military food pack, a lighter, and a dog whistle (for the monsters had impeccable hearing, although they can not stand loud or high-pitched sounds). His sister, on the other hand, had packed a large suitcase full of everything she might need while in South Korea, since she would probably be there until he got back with Hyun-Ki and Mi-Ok. They arrived at the airport about thirty minutes later. They quickly went through security and waited to board the plane.

                The flight was about fourteen hours, and they landed in Seoul, South Korea at about 12:30 pm South Korean time. We checked into a hotel and quickly headed to the hospital that he saw while he was on The Other Side. Although Luna didn't know why, exactly, they were there, but Eli was glad that she didn't ask questions. When he got there, he walked up to the front desk. "Hi, how can I help you?" a black haired woman with emerald green eyes, who looked like she could be no older than Luna, asked. She was looking at him strangely, which Eli figured was because it was obvious that he was a foreigner. "Hi, is there a patient named Mi-Ok here?" he asked. "Last name?" she asked. Only then did Eli realize that he had never learned what Mi-Ok's last name was. "Erm, I'm not sure what her last name is." he said. He was nervous that they wouldn't let him go in. Truth be told, his main reason for coming wasn't just to visit Mi-Ok. He had come in hopes that she would be able to speak with one of Mi-Ok's relatives. Frankly, he didn't need to see her to know that she hadn't woken up. If she were going to wake up, Ethan wouldn't have felt the need to bring Eli back. If she were going to wake up, Ethan would have let Eli stay with them, but the fact that Ethan brought him back meant that Eli was getting too close to bringing them back. It also meant that Mi-Ok and Hyun-Ki weren't supposed to come back- not yet, at least. "Ah, I see... Well, I suppose I can check if there's any patients under the name of Mi-Ok." the woman said. The woman typed something into her computer and, a moment later, looked back up at him. "It looks like we do have one patient named Mi-Ok here, Seong, Mi-Ok, room 113." she said. Eli let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Thank you." he said, bowing slightly, before heading back to where Luna was waiting. "Room 113." he said simply, and she got up quickly, simply saying "Alright." before helping him find the room. 

                It didn't take them too long to find the room, and when they reached it, they both hesitated a bit before going in. But, overcoming his nerves, he opened the door and walked in.
