The Provost family met with the neurologist to get an update on Martin’s condition. Megan had discussed with her parents that it might be time for a decision about her brother’s future. She felt perhaps it was time to discontinue the life support. Her mother once again, went deep into the grief cycle, rationalizing that given enough time, science would find a cure or fix for her boy. Mr. Provost was more practical. He said that while they waited for the miracle, they were all putting life on hold, with no guarantees. He dreaded losing his son, but eventually came to realize that perhaps his son was already gone.
