"Can I open my eyes, Damy? It's getting really dark."
Honey, it was dark the second you put the blindfold on.
"Opening your eyes isn't going to make it any brighter, Angel." I say, trying to hold my laughter in. "But, by all means, go right ahead."
My beautiful date was dressed up like herself. An angel. She was wearing a white sundress that flows with the wind with a light washed blue jean jacket, along with a gold bracelet and necklace and her hair was done up in a side bun. I don't know what it's called. She decided to wear black pumps instead of the heels her mom had offered because, and I quote, 'they hurt my feet. Why would I wear something that gives me pain?'
The angel beside me, matched perfectly with what we were doing today. I knew my Angel wouldn't want to got to an expensive restaurant where she'd have to whisper when she speaks. Frankly, I wouldn't like that either. I want to hear her angelic laughter out loud when she is happy.
"Okay, you can take it off," I said to her as I pulled up to the parking lot. From her window, you could see clearly where we were. She pulled off the blindfold excitedly and started to look around. She gasped and covered her mouth with both her hands. Oh, my Angel. Ever the dramatic one.
"Are we going there?" She whispers, as if it's some sort of a secret. At my nod, a massive grin breaks out on her face. "Really?! Oh my! I can't wait, let's go, Damy."
She was already out of the car.
"I'm going to be sick!" That was the first thing I said as we got of the rollercoaster, whereas Angel was smiling brightly at me. We had just eaten before we went on the ride. God knows where she gets all this energy from.
"You're so silly, Damy. That was fun. It was so fast and we went round and round and round and rou-" she started.
"-Yes! I get it. We went round. But doesn't your stomach feel like your hotdogs are going to come back up, because mine sure does." I interrupt with a sigh.
"No! My food is being digested perfectly fine. In fact, I want to go on that ride over there, Damy. Oh, please, please, pleeeease!" She looked back and forth towards the ride and back to me, her eyes shining brightly with excitement. I couldn't say no to that.
"Fine! But this is the last one, okay?" She nodded her head vigorously.
The ride she has chosen was the Ferris wheel. I was going to go on that ride last anyway, so I didn't need much convincing to go on it.
We lined up and there was only about three couples and couple of children in the line with us. We all got on at the same time since the unfair was going to close soon. By the time we go seated, we were already moving since we were the last ones on.
"Are we going to go up there?!" Rose asks turning her head towards the sky.
"Yes, Angel. We are. Are you excited?" I say, to which she nods.
"Uh-huh. Oh wow! It's so beautiful from up here! Look! There's so much wants on the floor! Where are all the people gone?"
"Angel, those are people. We can only see their heads because we're so high in the sky so they look like tiny weeny ants." I tell her with a chuckle.
We come to a stop at the top. Looking over at Rose, her eyes were wide with wonder, analysing the stars in the sky, and the bright lights of the city. Suddenly, she turns her head towards me and gives me a small smile, before she starts to speak.
"I want to try something. I heard Tina talking to Saffy about it."
She starts to lean closer, I immediately thought she was cold. Even if she did have my coat over her shoulders. Cliche, I know.
However, I was wrong, because next thing you know, her lips are on mine. They weren't there for a long time, but it was the best feeling I've ever felt in the world. You know, sparks and all.
"Damy, Tina told Saffy that she kissed a boy that she likes on the lips. So I wanted to do that too. I like you, Damy." She was so adorable, I didn't know what to say except from:
"That's good. Because I like you, too." Before meeting our lips in a longer kiss.
"Enough of that. Go somewhere else and do it! There's kids here." Brilliant, interrupted by a grumpy old man. Rose doesn't seem too happy about it either according to the slight frown on her face.
By the time I parked in front of Rose's house, aka the ice cream shop, it was already 10 in the night, and my Angel was starting to get tired. Scratch that, she was already half asleep. Her eyes were fluttering as if she was forcing them to stay open, and consistent yawns came from her mouth.
I got out of the car and went around to open the passenger side door, and a tired Rose steps out.
We get to the door, and Rose hugs me. "I had fun today. Can we do it again? Maybe Lilzy can come with us!" Before I could reply to her, the clicking of a camera could be heard. Then another. And another.
Great. Just what I needed. Note my sarcasm.
"Mr Anderson! Is this the same girl you were drinking coffee with? Are you dating?" Not wanting to scare away my, now shocked, Angel, I decide it's best to tell them the truth and get over it.
"This is my girlfriend, Rosalina Blake. And she is the girl at the coffee shop, and the guy was her brother. That's all." They didn't move away like I thought they would, instead even more questions were fired at me, some towards Rose.
"Damy, who are these people? And why are their lights so bright?" She whispers in my ear, meaning she was leaning up to reach my height.
I lean down, next to her ear. "I'll tell you later, okay? Now, you better get going before they get aggressive." I place a small kiss on her lips. My eyes hurt from the increased flashes. She needs to get inside quickly.
Breaking away from the kiss, she looks up at me with a horrified look on her face. She reaches up and cups her hand around my cheek. "Aggressive? What about you, Damy? Are they going to hurt you?" She says suddenly getting angry.
"No, baby. They aren't going to hurt me. I was only kidding. Look! Thomas is here, I'll see you later." She looks throughout he doors and sees her brother approaching and smiles brightly. She leans up and gives me a kiss before waving as she ran to her brother, already talking animatedly.
