"Where have you been?" Matteo asked when Viviana walked into the apartment close to 2pm.
"I told you- I went to my sister's." Viviana said.
"I went to go look for you." Matteo replied, moving to where Viviana stood nervously.
"I went to the store. Is there a problem?" Viviana said. She didn't want to seem too defensive but it was hard. She hated being questioned.
"Is that so?" Matteo asked. "Why didn't you take escorts?"
"There were none that early." Viviana said. "But the guys doing rounds saw me. It was fine." She walked around him and moved to the kitchen.
"Are you sure that's all you went to do?" Matteo asked.
"Yes." She said, trying to sound as casual as possible. Matteo cringed. He couldn't believe it- she was lying to him.
