Chapter 10: Hooked

When I woke up the second time I was alone which I was thankful for, but I also wanted to be in Malachai's arms. 

(You're confusing.) Lilo said with a yawn. (I need to go for a run later.)

'I'll see if Pearl wants to go with us, Kai will probably have things to do.' 

(Fine.)

(DL: Shiloh, I have an appointment set up for you and Doctor Delia in 2 hours.) 

(S: Thank you Doctor Lane.) I sighed and climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom before heading out to the living room where Kai was sprawled out on the couch. I smiled and went down to the mess hall before looking for the kitchen and grabbing some supplies. I brought them back up to the apartment and began making breakfast for Kai and I. Once the French toast and bacon was done I fried three eggs and poured two glasses of milk. When it was all done I went out to the living room where he was just getting up, his hair was all messed up and his shorts were hanging low on his hips. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed before looking up and meeting my gaze. 

"Morning." He said with a yawn, I smiled shyly and looked down at my feet before lifting my eyes back to his. 

"Good morning Kai, come and get some breakfast." He smiled and nodded following me into the kitchen, once we were standing right next to one another I could finally see just how tall he was, a bit shorter than Harlem at 6 ft 4, but still he towered over me. 

"Thank you love." He said sitting down at a stool and eating on the counter. That was the moment I saw his back tattoo, he had the phases of the moon running down his spine. without thinking I walked behind him and traced the waning crescent moon and smiled when he shuddered under my touch. 

"I think this is my favorite one." I said softly before turning away and sitting down next to him and eating my breakfast. He didn't speak while he ate and once he was done he went straight to the bedroom. When I was done I cleaned up and did the dishes, just then Malachai came back in and brushed some hair off my shoulder. 

"Thank you for breakfast love, it was delicious." I smiled up at him, very content with his praise. 

"I'm glad you liked it." I said. 

"Mmmm I really did. Can I hug you?" I answered by putting my arms around his large torso and resting my face on his pectoral muscles. In response his large muscular arms wrapped around my small body engulfing me in his warmth. 

"This is nice." I sighed making him chuckle. 

"It feels right doesn't it?" I nodded before looking up at him while still wrapped up in his embrace. 

"What is your last name?"

"Lucas, and yours?"

"Chavez."

"That's native american correct?" I nodded. "Kinda like Chavez y Chavez from young guns." 

"Exactly like that." I said with a giggle. 

"What is your favorite food baby girl?"

"Mmm Chinese. I love sweet and sour chicken." I said dreamily. 

"Can I take you out on a date tonight? Please?" I smiled and nodded. 

"I would like that Kai, but right now I have to get ready to meet Doctor Delia."

"The pack psychiatrist?" 

"Yeah, I think therapy will be good for me."

"I'm proud of you, so many people are too proud to go to therapy and don't get the help they need. It's good to know that you're not just going to bury your feelings until they get to the point where something bad happens. Don't hesitate to link me okay, if you need me for anything I'll be there." I nodded and hugged him tightly before heading to the bedroom and getting dressed. 

Once I was ready I walked to Doctor Delia's office and sat down, I was handed a paper to fill out, it asked a bunch of questions about my state of mind and what I did to alleviate stress. When I was done filling it out I handed the pen to the receptionist who told me to keep my paper. After waiting another 5 minutes a woman walked out of the back and called my name. 

"Hi Shiloh, I'm Delia, let's head in the back and I'll show you to my office." I nodded and followed her into the back. Her office was small with a brown leather chair hidden behind a large wooden desk, a small sofa sat in the middle of the room behind a coffee table with tissues on it. "Let's get started shall we?"

My session with Delia went well, even though I ended up bawling a few times. We mostly talked about the main stressors and triggers, she was pleasantly surprised when I told her I felt safe around both Pearl and Kai. They were the only two people in this pack above a 6 on my comfort rating scale she had me do. She also talked to me about my physical health seeing as some people with PTSD, depression, anxiety..(Ect) can develop nasty habits that can hinder ones physical state. I was given some homework, one of the things I was required to do was to find an outlet, or a hobby that I could do in my spare time to help with any restlessness I would probably begin to feel. So after my appointment I went to Malachai and I's room and sat on the couch brainstorming ideas.

(Can we go for a run now?) Lilo asked. 

(S: Pearl?) I asked into the mind link.

(P: Shiloh! What do I owe this pleasure?) She asked and I giggled. 

(S: Lilo would like to go for a run, and I thought perhaps your wolf could show her around.)

(P: I think that is a great idea, Kuza needs to stretch her legs.) I cut the link and stripped down to my underwear before slipping on a large tan fluffy robe and walking down to the main foyer where Pearl was waiting. I smiled at her and we walked to the back of the house where I removed my under garments from underneath my robe skillfully. When I was done I took off the robe and shifted as quickly as possible, not wanting anyone to see my naked form. 

I looked up at Pearl when I was done shifting to see a mid-sized grey wolf in her place, her fur was a muted grey with gunmetal grey paws and lemon colored eyes. I stretched before letting Lilo take over, she and Kuza traveled the entire territory, stopping once and a while to use the restroom. After an hour or two they came upon the training field where we were given back control. I layed down next to Pearl as we watched some of the men train. I licked my chops when I saw Malachai drenched in sweat while instructing a younger looking warrior. 

Once the warrior had completed the task Kai had given him flawlessly, the end of training was signaled. I watched as Kai, took off his shorts in the middle of the field before shifting into a large fawn colored wolf with a creamy underbelly. His paws were chocolate colored, his spine had some chocolate colored hairs mixed in with his primary fawn color along with lighter beige strands of hair. His eyes were an incredible smoke grey, he licked his black nose before striding over and sniffing me from a bit of a distance. 

I stood up and stretched before walking up to him and gently licking his cheek. He nuzzled my neck before turning to Pearl and bowing his head. A small growl sounded from behind us and I looked up to see two large copper colored wolves approaching. I bowed my head in respect to Alpha Shane and Alpha Stephen but barred my teeth and growled when they got to close. Stephen growled back and Lilo took over snarling at him, she leaned backward and raised the hair on her back while putting her head down and looking up at him. Finally Stephen stepped back and Lilo eased off, I huffed a sigh of relief and took control again and layed down on the ground putting my head on my paws. 

(St: Your wolf is as terrified as you are.) Stephen said into the link.

(Shy: She has a reason to be.) I said into the link softly before showing him the memory of what happened to Lilo and why she had retreated into a dark corner of my mind. 

(St: We'll make him pay, that I promise you.) Stephen said with a nod of his wolf head. I licked my chops again and thumped my tail on the ground once. Kai brought his head down and nipped my ear gently before c*****g his head and walking off into the woods. I bowed once more at the twins and Pearl who had layed down and followed him. He led us back to the pack house where he found my robe and under garments on a chair all folded up. He turned away from me while I shifted back and slipped my things on. 

"You can turn around now Kai." I said with a smile, Kai turned to me and padded up right in front of me, his wolf, like him was huge standing in at 6 ft tall. I reached up and scratched under his chin and he licked my nose before nuzzling my neck and shifting back. I closed my eyes while he put on a pair of underwear that were on the same chair as my things had been on. 

"I had someone bring these out once we left the training field." He said shyly before gently taking my hand and walking me up to the room where he went into the closet and pulled out some clothes for the both of us. "I'll go take a shower on Stephen's floor, I'll be back soon baby." I smiled and went into the bathroom and took off all of my things before taking a warm relaxing shower. While in the shower I took some extra time and shaved all the hairs I wanted gone including my legs, armpits and bikini area. 

Once I was out of the shower I put some almond butter lotion on my legs, then I pulled on a pair of black panties and a black lace push-up bra. I pulled on a grey spaghetti strap before the black lace boat neck long sleeve shirt and high waisted blue jeans with light grey vans. Once I was dressed I went back into the bathroom and brushed out my still long hair and decided to leave it down to air dry. I walked out to the living room where Kai was sitting on the couch waiting for me. He looked godly in his black button up shirt where the sleeves were rolled up to his forearms, the waist was tucked into a pair of grey slacks and he was sporting a pair of black leather shoes. His hair was ruffled making him look dashing, his eyes sparkled as stood up and walked over so that he was standing 2 feet in front of my face. 

"You look amazing baby." He said while taking his hand and rubbing it up and down my arm. 

"So do you Kai, very handsome." I took his hand in mine and looked at the difference in size while he lightly tugged on it. 

"Let's go eat." He said softly, I nodded and we left the room side by side.
