Shiloh POV.....
When I woke up in the morning I was happy to see I was alone and in a real bed, not back down in the basement. I stiffly sat up before heading to the bathroom and brushing my teeth and hair. I kept the hoodie on but placed on a pair of my underwear and a pair of black leggings. I opened the door to the bedroom thinking I could maybe watch a little TV not knowing what else to do, I slipped on my moccasins only to find a large body on the couch. I felt my body begin to tremble as I realized I didn't know the man. He turned toward me and opened his eyes before blinking and sitting up. I slowly backed into the wall while he watched me carefully.
I watched his every move, while beginning to snarl. When he moved his hands I barred my teeth. "Umm, I kinda need to pass you to get to the bathroom." He said softly pointing down the hall, I took my eyes off him to find the bedroom door. Once I found it I rushed back in and closed the door, I was expecting him to try and come in but I only heard his feet pass, then a toilet flush, then his feet pass again. Once there was no more movement I poked my head back out to see him back on the couch watching my door. His turquoise eyes met mine and I felt a calming sense of safety.
"Who are you?" I asked lightly he smirked and turned his body toward me, other than that he made no move to try and approach me.
"I'm Malachai, first warrior to Alpha Stephen, I didn't think you would appreciate waking up next to a strange person." He said with a shy smile. "And it was late, I kinda didn't want to drive to my place when I have an apartment here in the pack house." I nodded and stepped out of the room and sat on the floor. "Why don't you come and sit on the couch, I would like a shower, and I don't think the floor is that comfortable." I nodded.
"Where is Alpha Stephen?" I asked lightly while standing slowly.
"Probably still in bed." He said rolling his eyes dramatically. "I'm gonna go over to that corner until you are comfortable okay?" I followed his finger to the corner he pointed to and nodded. He moved cautiously and backed into the corner and nodded when he was set. I scurried to the couch and looked over at him as he smirked and began heading to the bedroom. After a moment his head poked out with a strange look. "You know salt and pepper shakers go in the kitchen right?" I glared jokingly and he chuckled before going back in.
I grabbed the blanket he had been wrapped in and pulled it over my legs before grabbing the TV remote from the coffee table beside me and switching it on. Once I found a suitable show to waste my time I sat back and laughed at the people doing stupid things. After a while I heard a knock and I looked over at Malachai who was standing in the door way to the bedroom.
"Would you like to go get breakfast?" I nodded once and turned off the tv. "Umm you never told me your name." I looked over at him and tilted my head.
"Didn't Shane tell you?" I asked, he smirked and nodded.
"He did, but you didn't therefore I'm going to pretend like I don't know it until you tell me." He said raising an eyebrow.
"Shiloh, my name is Shiloh." I said with a small smile.
"Nice to meet you Shiloh, now lets go get food. I'm starving." I giggled when he pouted at his clothed stomach. He walked over to the door and opened it before stepping out and knocking on the wall. I followed and shut the door once I was through it. Malachai began walking, I stayed 5 steps behind him careful not to get too close. When we got to the mess hall only a few people were there, I sat three seats away from Malachai who's face flashed with disappointment before he was served with food. After a little while we were approached by a male who raked his eyes over the visible parts of my body. I shied away in discomfort while he smiled shyly.
"What do you need Nathan?" I heard Malachai say.
"I wanted to welcome Shiloh to the pack, I didn't get a chance last night seeing as she left right after dinner." Nathan said not taking his eyes from me.
"Now you have, so leave." Nathan finally looked away from me and I sighed, I held my shaking hands under the table while trying to calm down a bit more.
"Shiloh, may I come closer?" I looked over at Malachai and shook my head, I didn't want any men near me. "Okay...well then lets talk about something....do you have any siblings?" I nodded. "How many and what are their names?"
"I have two, an older brother named Dallas and a younger sister named Cheyanne." I said lowly.
"What about your parents?"
"My mom Susan is a coroner and my dad Quill is the chief of police."
"Tell me about your wolf." As we talked I could feel my hands trembling less and less.
"Her name is Lilo, I..uh..I can't really talk to her right now." I admitted sadly.
"That's alright. You don't have to talk to her to tell me what she looks like." I looked back over at Malachai to see he was in the same spot he was earlier, only his body was facing me, all of his attention was focused on what I was saying.
"She is brown with lighter caramel patches and a medium brown paws, her eyes are a flax yellow color." I said before taking another bite of food. Malachai smirked before he turned back around and began filling his stomach up. "Thank you." I said softly.
"No need to thank me love." He responded casually. Before we were done eating Pearl and Shane walked in along with Callum, Gilly and Shane number 2 who I was guessing was Stephen. I shuddered weakly and looked down when Stephen looked over at me. "Don't worry about him, I promise he is a big softy under the rough IDAF attitude." I heard Malachai whisper. I looked up at him to see him smirking at Stephen before looking down at me and winking. I felt my cheeks heat up and my eyes widen, Malachai chuckled while a hand touched my shoulder.
I whipped my head around at Pearl who instantly looked guilty. "Sorry Shiloh, I see you have met Malachai." She said looking over at him with a small glare. I nodded and she sat down right beside me, "he isn't bothering you is he?"
"No." I said while taking another bite. "When are we leaving to go shopping?" I asked.
"After breakfast, and umm Shane, Stephen and Callum are going to join us for added protection." I wanted to shake my head no but something stopped me.
"I'll be going as well." I heard Malachai say firmly, leaving no room for argument. I looked over at him and nodded to which he smirked.
"And you are Shiloh." The sudden voice from behind me made me squeak as I jumped back in fright. Stephen was very close so I snarled at him barring my teeth. He took a step back and walked over by Malachai who was glaring at him angrily. I stopped growling and turned back to Pearl who was also glaring at Stephen. Once I was done with my food I fled from the mess hall and ran back to Malachai's room and plopped down on the couch and wrapped myself up in the blanket. Not long after Malachai eased in with Pearl and Shane behind him.
"Are you ready to go love?" Malachai asked, I got off the couch and ran into the bedroom and grabbed some of my cash and stuck it in my wallet before walking back out to see the three of them mindlinking.
"I'm ready." I said softly. Pearl nodded and walked over taking my arm, we followed the men out. I noticed Malachai had a small scowl on his face as he turned and walked out of the room. We all walked outside to an SUV where Stephen and Callum were waiting.
"I'll take my own car." I watched as Malachai left the group reluctantly. Stephen and Callum got in the front seat while Pearl and Shane slid into the back with Pearl in the middle, not liking the man to woman ratio I took a small step back and shook my head.
"It's alright Shiloh." Pearl said softly, I looked at the SUV and shook my head again. A smaller car pulled up behind the SUV and Malachai got out with a concerned look on his face.
"You okay?" He asked walking over stopping 6 paces away. I looked warily at the SUV and he seemed to get it. "You can ride with me if it'll make you feel better." I nodded and walked slowly over to the back passenger door. He nodded and I got in closing the door softly, not long after Pearl slid in behind Malachai's seat right before he got in. "I figured Pearl would make you more comfortable."
"Thank you Kai." I said shortening his name.
"Like I said earlier, no need to thank me love." He said with a smile as he began following the other vehicle.
"Can you turn on the radio?" I asked after two minutes of silence, Malachai didn't hesitate and immediately one of my favorite songs began to play, without a care in the world I began giggling and singing thinking of how much Dallas hated my taste in music.
"Was not expecting you to like Andy Black." Pearl said.
"He has a nice voice, but his tattoos are better." I said like a gossip girl. "I've always though tattoos are sexy as fuck."
"Language young lady." Malachai fake scolded from the front seat. Pearl laughed when I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Oh hush!" I squeaked. Pearl and I giggled the rest of the way to the mall, we pulled into the parking space next to Shane's vehicle and we all got out carefully. I slid out behind Pearl and smiled at Malachai who was holding the door, he winked before closing it behind me and urging me to walk forward. We all went into the mall and began shopping. After 3 hours I could barely walk anymore and I felt like my legs were gonna fall off.
"Let's sit for a moment." Malachai said from behind me pointing to a bench, I allowed him and Shane closer to me in the mall seeing as there was a higher chance of someone trying to touch me. I sat on the bench and pulled my knees to my chest while Malachai set my bags between us. "I know you'll probably refuse, but I could always give you a piggy back ride." I looked at him in shock and he chuckled. "You look exhausted and your beginning to drag your tiny feet." I looked down at my feet and tilted my head.
"My feet are not tiny." I defended making him laugh.
"Yes they are, a size 6 compared to a size 13 love." I wrinkled my nose at him while glaring and he laughed again. I was beginning to like the sound of it. I rolled my eyes and sucked in a deep breath catching an intoxicating scent. Cinnamon and rain.
(Mate!) Lilo screamed as she came back to me.
