Chapter 12: Into you

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that I was trapped under a heavy weight. The second thing I noticed was that there was a slight breeze every few seconds on the back of my neck. I turned around and found myself staring at the eagle tattoo on Kai's chest. Even though I was getting better I was sooo not ready for this. I quietly slipped from his embrace not wanting to wake him seeing as he looked absoluetly adorable. I smiled and went to the closet and pulled out a black V-neck t-shirt. I also grabbed a pair of blue grey jeggings and a grey bra and matching underwear. Once I was set I went into the bathroom and got dressed. I folded the hoodie and set it on the dresser and pulled on a pair of blue socks before slipping on my grey vans and grabbing the now awake puppy. 

I took her out of the crate and took her to the back yard with the leash. She walked around before peeing and rolling around a bit. After about 20 minutes I brought her back in and set up a puppy pad before giving her a bowl full of food, and water. I heard movement and I looked up to see Kai getting out of bed while looking around. Once I was spotted he smirked and stretched before heading to the bathroom, I smiled down at the puppy who was still eating greedily. 

When she was done eating I took her small bloated body back outside with a baggie and waited for her to do her business. Once she pooped I picked up the smelly grossness in the baggie and sealed it getting it ready for the vet. I walked with her back to the room where Kai had made the bed and cleaned up the bowls. I unclipped the leash and gave her a small squeaky skunk to which she began shaking and chewing on. 

"I brought back breakfast love." I heard Kai call out after I heard the door shut. I walked out to the kitchen with the lil puppy at my heels. I sat next to a dressed Kai and began eating the waffles and sausages. 

"Thank you for breakfast." I said softly taking his hand and squeezing it.

"No need to thank me love, I didn't make it." He said squeezing my hand back, he stood taking his hand from mine and walked behind me. "Can I hold you?" He asked softly, I nodded and he put his arms around my waist and his head in the crook of my neck. The sparks where our skin connected felt like magic, I put my hands on his and he tightened his grip a little pulling my body closer to his. 

"What does your house look like Kai?" I asked into the silence, he let out a deep breath before setting his chin on my shoulder. 

"It's a two story house, one that looks more modern. I have a huge master bedroom that takes up almost the entire second floor with a small terrace on the west side facing the woods. There is a connected bathroom and walk in closet of course. The only other two rooms up stairs is a spare room, which will hopefully be a nursery one day and my home office. The first floor has the dining room, a bathroom, laundry room, living room, kitchen and a spare bedroom for guests." He said before nuzzling my neck and pulling away.

I stood up not ready for him to pull away, I faced him and pulled him back into me and shoved my face into his chest. His arms wrapped back around me and his head rested on mine. "I like being close to you Kai." I said into his pectoral muscles. 

"I like being close to you too love." He said placing a chaste kiss on the top of my head. "Now we should take our little one to the vet." I nodded on his chest and sighed while pulling away. 

"Only because of the puppy." He chuckled and we grabbed the pup along with her poop and headed down to the garage where we got into Kai's 2019 Porsche Panamera that was a glossy blood red color. When we got to the vet and explained to the woman how we came across the little one we were fit right in with Doctor McCall. Once we were called in we placed the puppy on the steel exam table and waited for the doc to come in. 

After a few minutes a tall (5 ft 11) man walked in holding a clip board. He looked at me first with his dark brown eyes before looking at Kai and visibly gulping when he saw the size of my mate. Then he looked at the pup who was playing with Kai's hand. 

"So this is....I don't see a name." The doctor said. 

"We don't know if she has one, we found her on the street. We wanted to be sure she didn't have a family and a name before we called her anything." I said lightly. 

"Okay...lets check for a chip." The doc said as he held a gun like device to her neck and searched her scruff. "There is no chip...no phone number and no name, what is it you want to call her?"

"Artemis." Kai said in his deep baritone voice, the little pup wiggled her but and let out a small happy whine before licking his hand again.

"She likes her name I see, that's good. I'm going to draw some blood and run it. Then we'll do the physical, I did see her stool sample and it is very obvious that she has worms so I will be sending you home with medication for that." The doctor walked over to Artemis and drew some blood from her leg and took it into the back. I walked over and pet her while Kai stood behind me and rested his head on mine, placing his hands on my hips lightly, waiting for me to tell him to move them. 

The doctor came back in and looked at us before walking across the table, I tensed up and Kai eased me back gently before rubbing my arms and resting his head back on mine. He felt our little one all over her body before looking in her ears, eyes, mouth and checking her paws. He then gave her a few vaccines that all pups her age get, then he told us to bring her back in 4 months to get spayed if we didn't want puppies. When he was done he gave her a bit of spray cheese. 

"Looks like little miss Artemis is in good health minus the worms, but those are an easy fix."

"How old? And what breed is she?" I asked looking at her. 

"She is a 2 month old American pitbull terrier." I nodded and waited for him to take a few steps back before taking Artemis from the table and placing her on the floor, she sniffed my feet before sitting between them. "You guys are set to head out, just stop at the desk on your way out." I nodded and looked up at Kai, he opened the door and I walked out of the room with Artemis right at my heels, behaving like a good girl. Kai used his card to pay for the bill and we went out to his car. I curled up in the passenger seat with my little puppy on my lap, once Kai was in and we were on the road I took his free hand in mine making him smile. 

"Your hands are always so warm." I said with a small smile. 

"And yours always feel like a block of ice." He responded. "I would like to try something love. May I?" 

"Y..yes." I stuttered nervously. Kai took his hand and intertwined our fingers so our hands locked together like a puzzle. I really liked this way of holding hands, it was intimate, but not so much as to make me uncomfortable. 

"I like it." I stated for him to hear. 

"Me too love, I like it too." 

The rest of the ride we sat in a calming silence, when we got back to the pack house Kai brought us up to the room before changing into a pair of shorts before placing a kiss on my head and leaving for training. 

(S: Pearl come down to my room when you have a minute please.) I said into the mindlink while bringing Artemis to the living room where she began playing with her skunk toy. I was sitting on the floor playing tug-of-war with her when the door opened and Pearl walked in slowly. She smiled and squealed when she Artemis. 

"Oh my god! Where did you get her?!" She asked coming over and sitting on the ground. Artemis sniffed her before jumping on her lap and licking her face. Pearl squealed with happiness while I just giggled at them, we played for a while before Pearl got called up to her room by a needy Shane. A few minutes later, Stephen and Kai walked in. Artemis ran over to her daddy and began sniffing him before going to Stephen and wiggling at his feet. 

"You got a puppy!" Stephen said reaching down and lifting her up in his arms, she wriggled and whined happily as she placed puppy kisses all over his face. "These are the best kisses I've ever gotten." He gushed like a kid. I laughed loudly surprising both men who looked down at me with large smiles. 

"That is the saddest thing I have ever heard, but honestly same." I said, Kai's face turned pink while both he and Stephen laughed. I was quick to understand that the sound of Malachai's laughter was one of the best sounds I had ever heard. Stephen put Artemis down and she dashed over to me grabbing her skunk with a growl and shaking it in her jaw and squeaking it. 

"She is so f*****g cute." Stephen commented sitting on the couch as far from me as he could, Kai on the other hand plopped down on the floor beside me, between Stephen and I. Artemis played with her toy for a while before crawling into my lap and falling asleep. "So where did you find her?" 

"Tied to a pole after our date." Kai answered while taking a hand and stroking her soft fur. "Poor thing was abandoned and yet so happy to see two strangers."

"You should show her to your wolves." I thought for a moment before nodding. 

"Let's go then!" I said before setting her in Kai's lap and running into the bedroom and pulling off everything and pulling on a soft grey robe. I tied it tight before heading back out to the living room and grabbing Artemis and running down to the backyard. I took off my robe and shifted and looked at my puppy who padded up to me sniffing my large (compared to her) wolf form. She began wriggling and spinning herself in circles, I nudged her with my muzzle and began playing with her carefully. I growled at her once when she bit my tail a bot too roughly. Stephen and Kai joined us and pulled off their shorts before they both shifted, Artemis smelled them both before running around in a crazed fashion. I layed down and was joined by Kai while Stephen played with Artemis like a large puppy. 

We all went in once the sky got dark, both men turned around when I shifted and pulled on my robe. We all went to dinner bringing Artemis with us, most of the pack looked at us strangely seeing as I was still sitting at the Alpha table even though I had been brought in as a delta. None of them knew that Malachai Lucas was my mate, all mine.

'Woah, were did that come from?'

(The mate bond darling, it's only going to get harder and harder to resist our mate.)

'So I'm going to get more possessive?'

(And horny.)

'Uggghhh.'

(Yep, you know we could end the suffering early and mate tonight.)

'I'm not ready for that! Hell we still have so much to learn about one another.'

(Party pooper!)

'Oh hush!'

(We'll continue this conversation later missy!) I giggled and began eating once I realized Kai was eating beside me.
