Kieran's POV
Nyx was still sound asleep when I crept out of the room. I did not want to disturb her, and though I'd have also loved to stay in with her all through, there were important pack matters to attend to. I hurriedly walked downstairs, and Nicholas was already waiting for me.
He looked tired, like he had spent the whole night working.
“What's wrong?” I asked as he bowed to greet me.
“Nothing alpha.” He muttered. “Just a little tired.”
I chuckled as the reason for his tiredness was not far fetched.
“Have we gotten any news yet?” I asked.
“I got a very strange one this morning.” Nicholas said, looking conflicted and sad. “Two actually.”
