It felt good that my suspicions had been easily confirmed by Jephta's previous unfortunate experience. Now, we have more than enough conviction to fight Bridge off to the end.
“So, Caleb wanted us to end up in Bridge's area of Gingrich since the hotel where we had planned to stay was relatively close to his pack.” Nyx said.
“His plans failed grossly when we took a turn to Alpha Daniel's pack, and not Bridge's.” Nicholas muttered.
“But why go through all that stress just to get us in one place for a night or two?” Jephta asked.
“Maybe we'd have been better aligned with Bridge, or maybe he'd have even killed us, since it would have been quite easier.” I growled.
“Well then, I guess we dodged a bullet.” Nyx sighed.
