“Rogues are not fools, you think also!” I said, hoping the madness would stop. “No one has to die for another man's selfish desires.”
“It's for the greater good of my master!!” One of them shouted, running at me.
He leaped at me, claws extended, but I was faster. I sidestepped smoothly, grabbing his throat mid-air and twisting sharply. His neck snapped with a sickening crack, and he dropped like a rag doll. I shook my head, sad about what was happening.
“You've made your choice then.” I sighed. “Let's roll.”
Nicholas and Blue flanked me as we braced for impact. The first wave came in fast and wild, their snarls filled the air, and they really only had the thoughts of killing us. My instincts kicked in, and I met the first rogue head-on.
