Jephta shot up to his feet immediately, and Kieran's eyes began glowing. Nicholas came into the room almost immediately. One would have thought he was standing outside the room the whole time.
“How many are they?” Kieran asked, turning to Nicholas.
“About thirty.” Nicholas responded.
“How would you like to hone your fighting skills facing rogues?” Kieran asked, turning to look at me with a smirk on his face.
“It sounds intriguing and scary.” I muttered.
“I will protect you.”
Perhaps it's not as bad as it sounds. Maybe there's some goodness to come out of this.
