Nyx's POV
I woke up with a head-splitting ache, the kind that made my skull feel like it was cracking open from the inside. A dull, throbbing pain pulsed at the back of my head, spreading like fire through my nerves. My body felt heavy, sluggish, as if I had been thrown into a deep pit of exhaustion and left there to rot.
I tried to blink away the haze, but it did nothing. The place was dark. Even darker than the room where I had been kept before. This wasn’t just a lack of light, it was complete emptiness. A void. A prison made of shadows.
I wasn’t chained this time. My wrists and ankles were free, but that didn’t bring me any relief. I was locked in. The walls pressed in around me, too close, too tight. A small space, barely enough to move. Like a box.
