The Unfortunate Tragedy

Scarlett POV

I got to school and started teaching my students, it was about an hour later when one of our neighbors came running to my classroom.

"Come Scarlett!!! Come quickly!!! He screamed, which startled me the most,

What is wrong Philip?? Why are you panting so much?? Take a deep breath and calm down, so please tell me what happened??

"It's your parents Scarlett,the bus they boarded early this morning had an accident.

"What!!!! How did it happen?? Where are they?? I asked as strolls if tears streamed down my cheeks.

They were taken to the hospital,in the city, please hurry up let's go to the hospital.

I ran into my classroom, fetching my bags and dashing out of the room in a flash,I call amber to inform her about what just happened.

"Hello amber,I need you to listen to me carefully,I need you to meet me at the bus station now,"it's urgent.

"Ohhh sis, what could be so urgent?? And why should I go to the bus station am currently at my friend's place, okay and we are playing a game,we will talk when you get home.

Amber!!! Can you for once in your life be serious and listen to instructions,am talking about mom and Dad,they just had an accident and were rushed to the hospital and you are talking about your friends and your stupid games,is your friends more than our parents,I yelled at her.

What!!! An accident,how did it happen?? I will be there shortly, please wait for me.

Amber's POV

I was having so much fun with my friends when my sister Scarlett called to tell me about our Parents accident, immediately I abandoned my friends and rushed over to the bus station to meet my sister.

I cried throughout our journey to the hospital, my sister tried consoling me, like my second mother but I couldn't help but worry about what was happening to my parents.

Scarlett POV

Amber cried all through our journey,I tried my best to console her,I kept on praying that nothing bad happens to our parents,after a while the bus stopped at the hospital entrance,we both ran into the hospital, I went forward to meet the receptionist.

Good day ma'am,my name is Scarlett Davis and this is my sister Amber, please we are here because of our parents,they were involved in an accident.

"Ohhh please give me a moment to check,"sure ma'am please hurry up.

"Miss there are 10 accident victims that were brought to the hospital earlier and 8 of them have already been pronounced dead.

Dead!!! No please this can't be,my parents can't die amber said crying even more.

"Calm down amber, let's hope that mom and Dad are the ones alive okay, just have faith.

"Please ma'am where are they the two people that survived?? can we please see the two survivors of the accident.

"Sure you can see them,as it is the two survivor are yet to be identified by anyone and they are both in critical condition,the doctors are trying their best to save them.

And since you are here claiming that the two victims are your parents,you will have to go with a nurse to identify which one is your parents.

"Yes please, let's go nurse as we walked towards the emergency room,I turned back and saw Amber sitting on a chair,her eyes were red from too much crying.

"I went to her,amber come on let's go to the emergency room,mom and dad will be fine okay,I said pulling her up from the chair as we headed towards the emergency room.

We got to the emergency ward and saw mom fighting for her life,we both rushed to her side crying so much.

Mom!!! Please wake up,mom please talk to us,we both cried at her chest,she slowly opened her eyes, looking at both me and Amber,a tears dropped from her eyes.

My darling please take care of yourselves, Scarlett promise me that you would always take care of your sister, that you both would never abandon each other, promise you Scarlett,she said coughing out blood.

"I promise mom, please stop talking too much, and you will be fine,I said trying to stop the tears flowing from my eyes.

"Ohh my dear amber,my beloved daughter please be obedient to your sister and please stop living in a deluded world,I love you both so much and with those last words,mom died in our hands.we cried so much,the doctors and nurses tried consoling us, but the pain we felt was so much that we didn't want to be consoled and just cried our hearts out.

We are so sorry for your loss, but it's time for us to take the body to the morgue,the nurse said wheeling out Mom's body.

I went over to comfort amber,she had already been crying so much already, that's enough amber, let's go find Dad and make sure that he is okay, come on amber pull yourself together.

We both went back to the reception area,to enquire about our dad,"hello Miss sorry to bother you against, but where can we see the other accident victim.

"It's just beside the first emergency ward, and have you seen your mother??

"None of us could answer as tears streamed down our faces,all I did was give her a small nod,as words were too heavy for me to say.

How is she?? Is she okay,the receptionist asked her voice laced with compassion.

We both cried for a while before I answered,our mom is dead,I said crying the more.

"Ohh dear am so sorry for your loss,my deepest condolences,thank you ma'am, but we need to find out dad now and make sure that he is okay, which way is it to the second emergency ward.

"It's the first room by your right, but the patient there is a woman and not a man.

What!!! Where could our dad possibly be?? Did you people put him in another ward??

Am so sorry miss, but we only had two women in the emergency room and one of them was your mom who has sadly passed away.

And the other woman is currently undergoing treatment,but where can we possibly find my dad,I don't care about the other woman,all I want is just to see my dad, amber cried the more.

Please amber you need to calm down,we will definitely find Dad,stop crying okay.

Please ma'am what do you suggest we do now,I totally understand your grief, but I think it would be best if you just checked the morgue,all the accident victim died except for one woman.

"We both slumped on a nearby chair crying so much,I have never seen Amber cry like she did today,I went close to her, I held her in my arms trying to comfort her bad we cried on each others shoulder.

After a while we both had already cried so much,I cried my tears as I gathered the courage and asked my sister to accompany me to the morgue,so we can see our dad,it took a lot to convince amber to come with me as she kept on crying.

We headed towards the morgue and asked to see Dad's corpse, we were led in, the mortician pointed to all the corpse of the accident victims, he opened them one after the other,he got to the last one and Lifted the white clothes off,we saw our dad lying there lifeless on the stretcher,amber and I let out a loud cry.

We both went forward and cried on dad corpse,we cried so much that our head began to hurt,after a while we were led out by the mortician.
