I had been in my room for about an hour, pacing, sitting, and standing again. My mind refused to settle. The walls of the dorm felt smaller than usual, pressing in on me as Serena’s voice replayed over and over in my head. The way she smiled like she owned the world. The way she looked at me like I was dirt under her heels. My chest felt heavy, my skin prickled as if her presence still lingered around me.
