I felt the tension in the room shift, the hostility becoming more direct and more pointed. It didn’t feel like I was part of the pack anymore with the way everything seemed to play around like I was against my own people.
“I can explain what happened..” I started as Tobias stepped closer.
“You’re getting special treatment, aren’t you?” He accused me. “Because tell me why, you caused a scene yesterday. The future Alpha pulls you away for moon goddess knows what. Not only that, you were asked to stay behind during the assembly yesterday and then you didn’t return back to the dorm and to top it all up, you get no punishment for being the main contributor to this!” He yelled back at me.
“Tobias, she didn’t ask for this.” Lila stepped in to defend me when he cut in again.
