I turned slowly, already exhausted. “Tobias, I am so tired of you accusing me of things I haven’t done. Every time.”

“Then maybe get your eyes checked,” Lila snapped suddenly from beside me. I blinked at her in surprise as she stepped forward. “Aria has done nothing but protect all of us since we got here. She doesn’t enjoy serving Kai. She hates him. Right, Aria?”

“I just hope,” she added quietly, “that if nothing else, she gets close enough to him to bring him and his wretched family down.”
